Vacation during Summer Hours. During the period of “summer hours”, an employee who requests and is approved to take vacation on a Friday morning (when they are scheduled to work 4 hours in order to complete 40 hours in that week), will have one-half (1/2) day vacation deducted, providing the employee has worked a total of thirty-six (36) hours during the same week (Monday to Thursday), not including overtime. An employee who requests and is approved to take vacation for the entire week during the period of summer hours will have a full vacation day deducted for each day, including Friday. The parties will continue to be bound by any and all amendments to the OMERS pension plan. Include vacation hours in credited service; • Retroactive pay (including any pay equity adjustment) that fits with OMERS definition of earnings for all members, including active, terminated, retired and disabled members; • Lump sum wage or salary benefits which may vary from year to year but which form a regular part of the compensation package and are expected normally to occur each year (for example, payment based on organizational performance, some types of variable pay, merit pay, commissions); • Market value adjustments (for example, percentage paid in addition to a base wage as a result of market conditions, including retention bonuses if they are part of your ongoing pay strategy and not a temporary policy); • Ongoing special allowances (for example, flight allowance, canine allowance); • Pay for time off in lieu of overtime; • Pay in lieu of benefits (for example, when an employer has a flexible benefit program and the employee receives compensation in lieu of the benefit option); • Salary or wages for period of suspension where a member is reinstated with full pay and seniority (for example, a grievance settlement specifically reinstates a terminated employee with full pay and seniority); • Danger pay; • Acting pay (pay at a higher salary rate for acting in place of an absent person); • Shift premium (pay for shift work); • Ongoing long ser...

  • Work During Vacation Period No employee shall be required to work during the employee's vacation once the vacation request has been approved.

  • Time Off During Notice Period During the period of notice of termination given by the employer, an employee shall be allowed up to one day's time off without loss of pay for the purpose of seeking other employment. This time off shall be taken at times that are convenient to the employee after consultation with the employer.

  • Employee leaving during notice period An employee given notice of termination in circumstances of redundancy may terminate their employment during the period of notice. The employee is entitled to receive the benefits and payments they would have received under this clause had they remained in employment until the expiry of the notice, but is not entitled to any payment in lieu of any remaining notice.

  • Illness During Vacation (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only) Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to serious illness, which either commenced prior to or during the scheduled vacation period, the period of such illness shall be considered sick leave. Serious illness is defined as an illness which requires the employee to receive on-going medical care and/or treatments resulting in either hospitalization or which would confine the employee to their residence or to bed rest for more than three days. The portion of the employee's vacation which is deemed to be sick leave under the above provisions will not be counted against the employee's vacation credits.

  • Work During Vacation Should an employee who has commenced his scheduled vacation and agrees upon request by the Hospital to return to perform work during the vacation period, the employee shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times his basic straight time rate for all hours so worked. To replace the originally scheduled days on which such work was performed, the employee will receive one (1) vacation lieu day off for each day on which he has so worked.

  • Bereavement During Vacation Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to a bereavement, the employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave in accordance with Article 12.04. The portion of the employee's vacation which is deemed to be bereavement leave under the above provisions will not be counted against the employee's vacation credits.

  • Sick Leave During Vacation Where an employee qualifies for sick leave due to illness or injury during the period of vacation time, sick leave shall displace vacation leave. An illness or injury occurring while the employee is on scheduled vacation time shall not be accepted as a claim for sick leave benefits unless recuperation involves hospitalization or confinement to bed by order of a medical practitioner. Written medical verification of such illness or injury and hospitalization or confinement must be provided to the Employer in order for the employee to be eligible for sick leave benefits.

  • Employee Leaving During Notice An employee whose employment is to be terminated for reasons set out in this clause may terminate employment during the period of notice and, if so, shall be entitled to the same benefits and payments under this clause had the employee remained with the employer until the expiry of such notice. This is with the provision that in such circumstances the employee shall not be entitled to payment instead of notice.

  • Union Activity During Working Hours The Employer and the Union recognize that union representatives and stewards play an important role in effectuating the terms of this Agreement; however, both parties acknowledge that the duties undertaken as a union representative or xxxxxxx are in addition to the their job assignments. The Union shall notify the Department of Budget and Management in writing of the names of designated stewards and union representatives prior to them assuming any duties. Consistent with the operational needs of the Employer, the Employer shall grant time off with pay for designated stewards and union representatives, including reasonable travel time when necessary, to attend:

  • Holidays During Vacation If a paid holiday falls or is observed during an employee's vacation period, he/she shall be granted an additional day's vacation with pay for each holiday in addition to his/her regular vacation time.
