Special Activities. Each elementary school art or music teacher who accept assignments to work with students beyond the normal work hours without a supplement for the activity (art fair, musical performances, etc.) shall be compensated at the rate of $75 per assignment up to a maximum of three (3) programs per year. Employees in vocal or instrumental music assignments shall have the right to accept or reject requests for performance by musical groups to which they are assigned beyond the hours provided for supplemental pay. Employees who apply for a task assignment supplement for such performances in lieu of the above compensation shall receive the supplement only if the activities specified in the announcement of the supplement are provided; otherwise, the employee shall receive compensation as stipulated above.

Special Activities. Unpaid District in-service workshops, educational conferences and community groups (leadership capacity). Programs may be selected from any in-service workshops offered by the District (unpaid/non-work hours) and educational conferences offered by professional groups or as approved by the Committee. Verification of attendance is required and shall consist of a fee statement or registration receipt and program of activities. Written verification of community leadership shall be required. Points: Eighteen (18) hours of leadership service, or workshops shall equal one (1) point.

The auditing of a college class may be considered as part of this series. Institute/lecture series credits may be earned any time during the growth period. Attendance at ten (10) one-hour programs will constitute one (1) point credit.

Special Activities. Employees scheduled for special activities shall receive two (2) hours pay as calculated in Section B. above (“Overtime”). In the event a special activity schedule for a weekend is canceled an employee scheduled to work said activity shall receive two (2) hours pay as calculated in Section B. above (“Overtime”), if the employee had not been notified of the cancellation prior to reporting to work. If the activity was scheduled for a weekday, the employee shall receive two (2) hours pay as calculated in Section B. above (“Overtime”); if the employee was not notified of cancellation prior to the end of the employee’s regularly scheduled workday.
Special Activities. With the prior approval of 100 percent of the Board of Directors, Members may undertake Special Activities in the name of the Authority. All Members shall be given the opportunity to participate in each Special Activity of the Authority. Prior to undertaking a Special Activity, the Members electing to participate in the Special Activity shall enter into an activity agreement. Such activity agreement shall provide that (a) no Special Activity undertaken pursuant to such agreement shall conflict with the terms of this Agreement and (B) the Members to the activity agreement shall indemnify, defend and hold the Authority, and the Authority’s other Members, harmless from and against any liabilities, costs or expenses of any kind arising as a result of the Special Activity described in the activity agreement. All assets, rights, benefits, debts, liabilities and obligations attributable to a Special Activity shall be assets, rights, benefits debts, liabilities and obligations solely of the Members that have entered into the activity agreement for that Special Activity, in accordance with the terms of the activity agreement, and shall not be the assets, rights, benefits, debts, liabilities and obligations of those Members that have not executed the activity agreement. Members not electing to participate in the Special Activity shall have no rights, benefits, debts, liabilities, or obligations attributable to such Special Activity.
