National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. In order to promote high standards and continuing professional development, the parties agree that any teacher who has received National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) certification will have his/her regular scheduled salary increased by $2,000 annually. In order to receive this supplement, NBPTS certification and First Class Maryland certification must be maintained.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. The Board shall offer professional incentives/assistance to employees working toward and/or attaining national certification including:
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. 1. Any teacher showing documentation of submission of a completed portfolio by June 15 of the current school year to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards shall receive a one-time merit award equal to B.1. above.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. The District shall offer professional incentives/assistance to employees working toward and/or attaining national certification including:
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. During a teacher’s participation in the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) certification process, the district will provide three (3) TDE release days for any teacher, to prepare for the rigorous standards of the (NBPTS) program. These days must be coordinated with the principal/supervisor and will be used only to attain certification.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Upon submission of evidence of completion, a teacher who completes National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) certification or Master Educator license shall be paid one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) per year above the salary placement as determined by other terms and conditions of this Collective Bargaining Agreement. This stipend will cease should the employee fail to retain such certification.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. For each year that a teacher holds certification issued by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, the School District shall add five (5) percent to the salary that the teacher would otherwise receive for that year, if:
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. (NBPTS) Teachers receiving NBPTS certification will be paid $1,500 bonus. The bonus will be paid for up to ten years. Should the state aid bonus payment to the school district be less than $1,000 then the $1,500 bonus will be reduced accordingly. The $1,500 bonus will be paid when the school district receives the state aid bonus payment. Teachers who are employed for a part of a year will receive a partial payment of $1,000. The 10-year limitation begins with the date of the National Board certificate. For example, if the teacher has had the National Board certification for 3 years prior to this law, they will have 7 years of incentive bonus payments remaining. In order to be eligible for the incentive bonus, the teacher must have completed all work necessary for the certificate prior to the beginning of the school year.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. The Board shall reimburse any teacher applying for National Board Certification, for expenses incurred by the teacher in applying, including the application fee and the costs of materials required, and any necessary travel. The Board shall pay an annual stipend of $2000 to any teacher who is certified by the National Board. National Board Certifications include the following: NBPTS-National Board for Professional Teaching Standards; NCSP – Nationally Certified School Psychologists; NBCC- The National Board for Certified Counselors; ASHA-CCC- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech- Language Pathology.
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. In any school year that the State Board of Education completely defaults and fails to pay the “Master Teacher Xxxxxxx,” regardless of the stipend’s designated amount, then the School Board will pay those teachers entitled to receive the Master Teacher Stipend five- hundred dollars ($500).
