Sick Leave Allocation. A regular employee employed five (5) days per week shall be granted one (1) day per month leave of absence for illness or injury for each month of service. An employee employed less than five (5) days per week shall be granted that proportion of one (1) day per month as the number of days per week he/she is employed bears to five (5). A regular classified employee, employed five (5) days per week, who is employed for less than a full fiscal year, is entitled to the proportion of twelve (12) days leave of absence for illness or injury as the number of months he/she is employed bears to twelve (12). A classified employee employed less than five (5) days per week but twenty (20) hours or more per week, shall be entitled, for a fiscal year of service, to that proportion of twelve (12) days leave of absence for illness or injury as the number of days he/she is employed per week bears to five (5). When such persons are employed for less than a full fiscal year of service, this and the preceding paragraph shall determine that proportion of leave of absence for illness or injury to which they are entitled. Pay for any day of such absence shall be the same as the pay which would have been received had the employee served the day of illness. At the beginning of each fiscal year, the full amount of sick leave granted under this section shall be credited to each employee. Credit for sick leave need not be accrued prior to taking such leave and such leave may be taken at any time during the year. However, a new employee of the District shall not be eligible to take more than six (6) days or the proportionate amount to which he/she may be entitled, until the first day of the calendar month after completion of six (6) months of active service with the District. If a classified employee does not take the full amount of sick leave allowed in any year under this section, the amount not taken shall be accumulated from year to year.

Sick Leave Allocation. Sick days shall be credited on the first day of school unless the teacher is on a continuing leave of absence in which event the days shall be credited upon the first day of the teacher's return to work. For contractual teachers working less than a full day or less than a full year, the fifteen (15) days sick leave allowance shall be pro-rated using full-time teacher work days as indicated in Article XVIII as a base and contractual days converted to equivalent full-time days as the numerator. Teachers shall be notified as to the number of sick days credited to them by October 15 of each school year.

  • Sick Leave Pool a. The Sick Leave Pool is intended to provide security to supplement other insurance benefits by allowing employees to "buy" insurance for extended illness, or other disability. Pool Days may be used to "make an employee whole" if disability or Workers' Compensation benefits are less than normal base pay. When "buying" Pool Days, employees convert Earned Time days on a 1:3 basis. Similar to purchasing insurance, the employee may pick a given number of days to exchange for coverage in case of extended disability.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Sick Leave Payout No cash payment for unused sick leave will be paid to any employee leaving the service of the Employer.

  • Sick Leave Accrual Full-time employees will accrue eight (8) hours of sick leave in a calendar month.   • Sick Leave Cash Out Eligible employees may elect to receive monetary compensation for accrued sick leave as follows: In January of each year an employee whose sick leave balance at the end of the previous year exceeds four hundred eighty (480) hours may elect to convert the sick leave hours earned in the previous calendar year, minus those hours used during the year, to monetary compensation. No sick leave hours may be converted which would reduce the calendar year end balance below four hundred eighty (480) hours. Monetary compensation shall be paid at the rate of twenty-five percent and shall be based on the employee’s current salary. All converted hours will be deducted from the sick leave balance. Employees who separate from University service due to retirement or death shall be compensated for the unused sick leave accumulation from the date of most recent hire in a leave eligible position with the State of Washington at the rate of 25%. Compensation shall be based upon the employee’s wage at the time of separation. For the purpose of this section, retirement shall not include vested out of service employees who leave funds on deposit with the retirement system. Former eligible employees who are re-employed within three (3) years of their separation from service shall be granted all unused sick leave credits, if any, to which they are entitled at time of separation.

  • Sick Leave Payoff Employee with accrued, unused sick leave may, at the time of separation, select one of the following options for reimbursement:

  • Deductions from Sick Leave A deduction shall be made from accumulated sick leave of all normal working days (exclusive of holidays) absent for sick leave.

  • Vacation Leave Accrual ‌ After a full-time employee has been in pay status for eighty (80) non-overtime hours in a calendar month, the employee will accrue vacation leave according to the rate schedule below. Vacation leave accrual for part-time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours the part-time employee is in pay status during the month to that required for full-time employment.
