Self-Funded Leave of Absence. (a) A member may request a reduction in their gross salary for one or more calendar years to allow a leave of absence with pay and benefits. Time will be credited toward a leave of absence based on a reduction in salary at current salary rates.

Self-Funded Leave of Absence. The Self-Funded Leave Plan permits employees, upon approval by the Department Manager, Senior Manager and Director, Staff and Volunteer Resources, to finance a Leave of Absence for a period of one (1) year. Employees work their normal daily hours while receiving eighty percent (80%) of their base salary for each of four (4) years. In the fifth (5th) year, the individual is granted a leave of absence of one (1) year, funded by the accumulated deferred pay. Details and guidelines for utilization of this benefit can be obtained from the Staff and Volunteer Resources Division.
Self-Funded Leave of Absence a) The self-funded leave of absence plan is designed to allow Members to defer a portion of their salaries for the purposes of funding an unpaid leave of absence, which can be used for career development and personal growth opportunities.
Self-Funded Leave of Absence. Full-time employees (28 hours per week) who have completed two years of employment at the Agency are eligible to participate in a self-funded leave plan. This plan permits an employee to distribute “X” years salary over a “Y” year period, and to take an approved leave from the Agency during the final year of the “Y” year period. Self-funded leave of absence is subject to all the terms and conditions detailed in Schedule “B” attached hereto and forming part of this Agreement.
Self-Funded Leave of Absence. In anticipation of a leave of absence or sabbatical which will provide less than 100% salary, an employee may participate in a deferred compensation program which the district will establish with an acceptable banking institution. An employee may sign up for deferred compensation by designating the percentage of compensation to be deferred (10-25%), the amount of time over which the deferral will occur (1 year minimum, 5 year maximum), and the academic year or trimesters that the deferred compensation will be paid out to the employee. Deferred compensation, when paid out, will be in addition to any regularly due compensation. Once an employee elects to participate in a deferred compensation plan, he/she will not have access to the deferred compensation until the designated pay out time, whether or not a leave is granted. The deferred compensation will be treated and reported as compensation at the time it is received, not at the time it is deferred. If an employee takes a leave for educational purposes, the time shall, at the employee's option, be reported as retirement service credit. The employee may maintain group insurance coverage during this leave by participating in the COBRA option.

  • Extended Leave of Absence Professional employees who have attained renewable contract status may request extended leaves of absence for one (1) year without pay under any one of the circumstances listed in this section. All requests for such extended leave of absence will be applied for and granted or rejected in writing. Such application will be reviewed by the principal and superintendent. If the latter approves, he/she will recommend that the leave be granted by the Board. An employee returning from an extended leave will be assigned to the same position as that which he/she held before assuming the leave, providing that position still exists. By mutual agreement between the employer and the employees, he/she may be given a different assignment. Extended leaves of absence may be requested under, but not limited to, the following:

Stat. § 122A.40, Subd. 10, which Article, when adopted, shall constitute a plan for unrequested leave because of discontinuance of position, lack of pupils, financial limitations or merger of classes caused by consolidation of districts.

  • Unpaid Leave of Absence If an employee is on an unpaid leave of absence, then vacation leave, compensatory time, or sick leave cannot be used for the purpose of maintaining eligibility for an Employer Contribution by keeping the employee on a State payroll for one (1) working day per pay period.

  • Union Leave of Absence An employee on an unpaid Union leave of absence shall have her wages, benefits and seniority continued by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the costs of such wages and benefits. Employees requesting leave under this article will provide the Employer with as much advance notice as possible of the dates of the leave. Where there are less than fifteen (15) regular employees at a workstation at the time the leave request is submitted, and subject to operational requirements, unpaid Union leave of absence will be granted to one employee for the purpose of conducting Union business. This would be an additional person on Union leave at worksites where the position of the Union President or Council member has been backfilled for the duration of their term of office. A leave of absence without pay shall be granted to an employee who is a member of the Union and who is:

  • Sick Leave During Leave of Absence (F/T) When an Employee is given leave of absence without pay for any reason, or is laid off on account of lack of work, he/she shall not continue to accumulate sick leave and shall not be entitled to receive pay for sickness for the period of such absence, but shall retain his/her cumulative credit, if any, existing at the time of such leave or lay-off.
