Common use of Self-Funded Leave of Absence Clause in Contracts

Self-Funded Leave of Absence. The self-funded leave plan permits employees, upon approval by the Department Manager, Senior Manager and Director, Staff and Volunteer Resources, to finance a leave of absence for a period of one (1) year. Employees work their normal daily hours while receiving eighty percent (80%) of their base salary for each of four years. In the fifth year, the individual is granted a leave of absence of one (1) year, funded by the accumulated deferred pay.
