– REPRESENTATION AND UNION SECURITY. 6.01 The Employer will deduct from each nurse covered by this Agreement an amount equal to the regular monthly Union dues designated by the Union provided to the Employer in writing at least 30 days prior to the date of deduction. These dues will be deducted ongoing unless otherwise notified by the Union. The deduction period for a part-time or casual nurse may be extended where the nurse does not receive pay in a particular month.

Each party may change its representation in accordance with the subject matter intended to be discussed. The Employer will also recognize a committee of a Grievance Officer and the Bargaining Unit President for purposes of interpretation and application of the Collective Agreement as it relates to differences between the parties. The Employer will pay such employee representatives at their respective salaries for all regular time lost in negotiating renewals to this Agreement, in investigating or processing grievances and while attending meetings with the Employer, provided that these representatives do not leave their regular duties without the consent from the Executive Director or designate.
