PPE Requirements. Contractor shall ensure that Contractor Personnel are provided, without charge, with all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) at any Site and trained on its use. The PPE provided shall, at a minimum, meet OSHA standards.
PPE Requirements. The Contractor is to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the resources before they reach site. All PPE must conform to Eskom/ERI requirements as per procedure 240-44175132, as well as relevant OHSA and SABS procedures. The Contractor is to ensure they are conversant with the terms of these procedures regarding old and damaged PPE. Any resource not on site due to PPE not provided for by the Contractor will not be paid for by ERI. Two piece Clean Conditions overalls made of 100% cotton and be white in colour. These overalls may not have any pockets, belt loops or metallic fasteners,  T-Shirts: No clothing other than a pocket-less cotton (Preferably White) T-shirt or underwear may be worn underneath the overall,  Clean Condition Safety Shoes,  Pocketless Thermal Jacket,  Thermal underwear,  Pocketless Rain Jackets  Special Covid-19 or any other required PPE

PPE Requirements. The minimum PPE requirements for work done under this price agreement, require that all employees working on site utilize a Tyvek Disposable Coverall with open-ended wrists/ankles, Nitrile disposable gloves with leather gloves placed over them, protective eyewear, face masks and steel toed boots. Hand sanitizer shall be available at the work site with easy access to all Contractors employees.
PPE Requirements. At a minimum, all employees will always have required PPE, including: hardhat, safety glasses including side xxxxxxx (dark eye protection is allowed only during sunny daylight hours), leather gloves (or specific gloves based upon task), safety toed boots and high visibility apparel. If any of the minimum required PPE hinders the task or creates a hazard, workers are encouraged to contact the safety representative for a re-evaluation. The following describes the required PPE based upon the specific job task:
PPE Requirements. All Contractors shall ensure appropriate PPE is utilized in accordance with applicable requirements and the guidance provided in this document. In addition, Contractors will follow ground-to-ground and cradle-to-cradle use of rubber gloves while carrying out work on energized overhead lines; commonly referred to as “ground to ground” and “cradle to cradle”. Any foreign wire constitutes a potential energized source and rubber gloves shall be required. Any foreign wire on a pole or structure constitutes an energized source: cable TV, telephone, fire alarm wire, etc. Fall Protection All Contractors who climb structures such as wood poles or transmission towers shall utilize enhanced fall protection equipment and techniques. Enhanced fall protection means the use of a fall arresting device; examples include Buck-Squeeze, Xxxxxx or Jelco pole-choking systems when working on wooden structures, and a full-body harness and either a Step Safe or Shepherd's Hook with retractable line when working on steel structures. Climbers shall never be allowed to drop or slide down a pole or structure more than two feet. Fall protection or fall restriction devices shall be used when working at heights over 4 feet, with the exception of ladder use. Exceptions to fall protection shall be approved by the Owner’s Representative or by another qualified User Representative. Implementation of Safety Specifications for Site Pole Delivery and Handling The establishment of a section in the specifications for transmission and distribution work involving poles to secure the site from the possibility of poles rolling using methods not easily defeated by the public is required. This section will outline the use of cradles on-site to secure the poles as well as the conditions of temporary storage areas such as grade, distance from changing grades, and ground. All managers must be educated on the hazards of pole rolling, on identifying current and future hazards regarding the rolling of poles, and periodic refreshers on the safety issues regarding rolling poles through use of internal web communication tools. The necessary specifications of temporary pole storage must be included in job briefs and the contractor safety SOP in order to ensure a contractor-based workforce (with high volatility and turnover) properly secures poles left on-site, as well as continuous identification of the hazards involved in rolling poles to ensure ongoing awareness.
