Period of Rest. 10.06 a) All non-shift assignment employees who are required to work overtime between 23:00 hours and the scheduled start time for their normal work day, if they are scheduled to work on the same day, shall be entitled to a period of rest without loss of regular pay under the following circumstances:

When an employee is assigned to night shift and required to work in excess of three (3) weeks (21shifts), the employee will require a minimum of 72 hours rest before returning to their regular day shift schedule. It is understood that the employer will make every attempt to schedule the period of rest over the employee’s regular days off. When an employee is assigned to 3 weeks (21 Shifts) on night shift and required to work in excess of 21 shifts, the employee will require a minimum of 72 hours rest before returning to their regular day shift schedule. It is understood that the employer will make every attempt to schedule the period of rest over the employee’s regular days off. Note: Need to review the Reg Doc 2.2.4 as future revisions come into effect.

Period of Rest. An employee, who is required to work more than eight (8) consecutive hours overtime immediately following his normal working hours, shall be granted eight (8) consecutive hours off the job before reporting for work again without loss of pay.
Period of Rest. 17.01 Except as provided in Clause 15.04 if an employee is required to work, without notice, during the period between midnight and 0500 hours, the employee will be permitted, where possible, an eight (8) hour rest period before he/she is required to assume his/her regular duties. If any portion of the eight (8) hours occurs within his/her regular hours of work, he/she will be paid, for that time so occurring, at regular straight time rates.
