PERA Committee. Nothing in this policy limits the authority of the Superintendent or designee to create and use committees that report to him or her or to other staff members. The Board Attorney represents the School Board in its capacity as the governing body for the School District. The Board Attorney serves on a retainer or other fee arrangement as determined in advance. The Board Attorney will provide services as described in the agreement for legal services or as memorialized by an engagement letter. The District will only pay for legal services that are provided in accordance with the agreement for legal services, as memorialized by an engagement letter, or that are otherwise authorized by this policy or a majority of the Board. The Superintendent, his or her designee, and Board President, are each authorized to confer with and/or seek the legal advice of the Board Attorney. The Board may also authorize a specific Board member to confer with the Board Attorney on its behalf. The Superintendent may authorize the Board Attorney to represent the District in any legal matter until the Board has an opportunity to be informed of and/or consider the matter. The Board retains the right to consult with or employ other attorneys and to terminate the service of any attorney. PERA Committee. The Board and the Alliance shall establish a committee which will meet to determine the successor evaluation plan that shall conform to the requirements set forth by the Performance Evaluation Reform Act (PERA) and identify the Student Growth Model to be implemented by the 2016 deadline. The Evaluation Committee shall examine best practices for evaluation, develop the successor plan and shall be permitted to pilot the plan for a period of one year. The committee shall determine timelines needed to meet the aforementioned deadlines and shall make regular reports to the Board and Alliance. The Evaluation Committee shall monitor the implementation and use of the Evaluation Plan. The Evaluation Committee will include five (5) Alliance representatives as appointed by the President of the Alliance, and five (5) administrators appointed by the Superintendent and shall operate by consensus.
PERA Committee. The Board and U2CT shall establish a committee which will meet yearly to determine the successor evaluation plan that shall conform to requirements set forth by the Performance Evaluation Reform Act (PERA) by the 2012 deadline and develop the Student Growth Model to be implemented by the 2016 deadline, including but not limited to the types and methods of measurement used for determining student growth and the percentage of weight of the student growth component upon the performance evaluation. The Evaluation Committee shall examine best practices for evaluation and develop the successor plan. The committee shall determine timelines needed to meet the aforementioned deadlines and shall make regular report to the Board and U2CT. The Evaluation Committee will include an equal number of representatives of no less than five (5) and no more than seven (7) for each side as appointed by the President of the U2CT and the superintendent. The U2CT and Administration shall select their own members to the committee and each shall designate one of their members as co-conveners. The committee shall operate by consensus.
PERA Committee. In accordance with the Performance Evaluation Reform Act of 2010 (PERA), a PERA committee must be formed composed of equal representation by the district and its teachers, or where applicable, the exclusive bargaining representative of its teachers. Decisions will be made by consensus and must conform to PERA.
PERA Committee. The Superintendent and Union President shall meet at the beginning of each school year to determine the need to convene a committee pursuant to the Illinois School Code to update the 24-A evaluation procedures. The committee shall consist of three (3) people appointed by the Administration and three (3) people appointed by the Union. The recommendation of the committee will be submitted to the Board and Union for ratification.

The Union at all times shall keep the Employer informed of the individual membership of the Committee.
