Discretionary Personal Leave. Employees will receive two (2) discretionary personal leave days with pay during a contract year. Unused personal leave may be accumulated to a total of five (5) days or may be “cashed out” at the daily substitute rate of pay or one hundred and thirty dollars ($130) whichever is the greater amount. Application for personal leavecash out” must be submitted to the District business office no later than June 1. Any employee who would otherwise “lose” personal days due to exceeding the limit of 5 days will automatically have those days cashed out.

Discretionary Personal Leave. (“Personal Days of Absence”) Each teacher shall be allowed three (3) paid days per year, for personal business, with no reasons needing to be given. Notice to the teacher’s supervisor that personal leave is to be taken shall be made at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance (except in the case of an emergency). No personal leave shall be taken before or after a vacation or holiday except in unusual circumstances as approved by the teacher’s supervisor.

Employees with a start date during second semester will receive one (1) discretionary personal leave days with pay during a contract year. Discretionary Personal Leave a. The Company may in its discretion grant leave of absence without pay for legitimate personal reasons. Request for such leave shall be made in writing, to the Human Resources department stating the reason for such request and the proposed duration, at least two (2) weeks in advance except in cases of emergency. Requests for leaves of absence in excess of three (3) months must be referred to the designated HR Executive for consideration. These will only be granted in unusual cases, dependant on the individual’s circumstances.

  • Additional Personal Leave Where paid personal leave credits are exhausted:

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible.   • Sick Leave/Personal Leave 1. Each member of the bargaining unit who is regular full-time, in an active pay status, is eligible for ten (10) days of sick leave and three (3) days of personal leave annually. No member of the bargaining unit shall lose the accumulated allowance of unused days of sick leave/personal leave by reason of having been absent for a period without pay, nor shall the employee accumulate any additional days of allowance during the absence. Faculty members needing to use sick/personal days shall fill out the requisite forms according to official College procedures.

  • Unused Personal Leave Since a number for the available personal leave days has been established, a basic discussion will need to be had regarding unused personal leave days. Naturally, these differ from vacation days since the Employer will not always be required to pay the Employee when personal leave is taken. If a dollar amount will be attached to each personal leave day that is unused so that it can be paid to that Employee then, select the first checkbox presented in the list of options provided and record the dollar amount that shall be paid for one unused personal day.
