Accumulative Sick Leave Days. On the opening day of the school year, each full time teacher shall be credited with a ten (10) day sick leave allowance of which five (5) of those days may be used for family sick. The unused portion of such allowance shall accumulate from year to year without limitation. Additional sick leave may be obtained by adding any unused personal leave given in Article X. When there is a reasonable basis for believing the employee has been abusing his sick leave, a doctor’s certificate or other appropriate evidence of sickness may be required prior to payment. Accumulative Sick Leave Days. 1. At the beginning of each school year, each employee shall be credited with ten (10) days of sick leave. The unused portion of the total allowance shall accumulate from year to year without limitation. All sick leave days may be used in accordance with the Pennsylvania Public School Code or to care for the medical needs of the employee’s dependent child(ren).
Accumulative Sick Leave Days. On the opening day of the work year, each Bargaining Unit Member shall be credited with one (1) day of sick leave for each remaining month of the work year. The unused portion of such allowance shall accumulate from year to year without limitation. Accrued unused sick leave for Bargaining Unit Members eligible to retire will be applied towards his/her severance payments as outlined in 9.7. Bargaining Unit Members shall be permitted to use up to five (5) of their accrued sick days per contract year for care of an immediate family member. Immediate family member shall be defined as father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, wife, and parent-in-law. Included within the immediate family is any near relative who resides in the same household. After the 3rd day of consecutive absence or after the establishment of a pattern of use, employees may be required to provide documentation supporting the use of sick days at the request of the administration.

  • Cumulative Sick Leave 16.1 Employees covered by this collective agreement will carry forward their accumulated sick leave days from the predecessor school boards to a maximum of 280 days. Effective September 1, 1999 employees (other than temporary employees) shall be credited with two (2) days of sick leave for each month of active full time service to a yearly maximum of 20 days for ten month employees. Effective September 1, 2003 100% of the unused days each year are accumulated, to a possible sick leave total of three hundred (300) days. Sick leave days will be pro-rated for part-time employment.

Part- time employees will accrue sick leave credit on the same proportional basis that their employment schedule bears to a full-time schedule, up to a maximum of eight (8) hours in a calendar month.

  • Sick Leave Pool a. The Sick Leave Pool is intended to provide security to supplement other insurance benefits by allowing employees to "buy" insurance for extended illness, or other disability. Pool Days may be used to "make an employee whole" if disability or Workers' Compensation benefits are less than normal base pay. When "buying" Pool Days, employees convert Earned Time days on a 1:3 basis. Similar to purchasing insurance, the employee may pick a given number of days to exchange for coverage in case of extended disability.

  • Accumulation of Sick Leave The unused portion of an Employee's sick leave shall accrue for her future benefit, up to a maximum of one hundred and thirty (130) days.

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.
