PROMOTIONS AND STAFF CHANGES. 15.01 Job Postings (Regular Positions)
PROMOTIONS AND STAFF CHANGES. 13.01 Definition It is agreed upon by both parties that, Full-Time positions will be created wherever possible. When a new position is created, or when a vacancy that is known to be four (4) months or more occurs; the Association shall notify the Union in writing and post a notice of the vacancy for a minimum of one (1) week so that all members will know about the vacancy or new position. Positions shall be advertised within five (5) working days of the vacancy. Appointments from within the Bargaining Unit shall be made within three (3) weeks of the posting. Staff will be prepared to accept the position when offered. All research on the position will be done during the posting period. The staff will first request the information from the site(s)* that they are applying to and if necessary staff will request and receive the information from the Human Resources Department. Once accepting a temporary posting, staff will not be able to apply for another posting until the lesser of the following occurs: a) staff are in the last four (4) weeks of their current temporary position; or b) staff are at the end of the fifth month of their current temporary position (will have a four week opportunity to apply for postings or return to their permanent position). While in a temporary position staff may apply for a posting which would be for a permanent position or if it is a temporary position of higher job classification. Unless there is a monetary gain, staff will be expected to remain in their current temporary position for five (5) months. An employee shall not be entitled to post for any vacancy after having physically moved into two (2) permanent postings within the same job class in a calendar year, unless for monetary gain. When an employee returns to work from an absence such as: Maternity Leave, approved LOA, STD or LTD (less than twelve (12) months), they shall return to their former position, side(s)* and except for LOA's they shall receive adjusted service credit as if they had worked. All staff affected by the filling of this temporary position will return to their former position and site(s)*. *(s) will apply only when necessary to address the issues of short changes, split shifts and staff working varied shifts in a week, etc.

PROMOTIONS AND STAFF CHANGES. 9.01 1) Where a position within the scope of this Agreement is established or where the Division determines a position is vacant for a known duration of six months or more, the Division agrees to post a notice of position in all schools and shops for a period of not less than five (5) working days. Such notice shall state the nature of the position, the location, the required knowledge, education, abilities and skills required and the rate of pay for that position. Present employees shall have five (5) working days from the initial posted date to apply for the bulletined position.
