Volunteer Requirements. If you are an adult volunteer member over the age of 18 with regular access to and/or authority over minors, you must pass a background check and take all courses required by USA Gymnastics or the Center, including without limitation, the required Safe Sport training. If these requirements are not met, you will not be granted membership in USA Gymnastics. Volunteer Requirements. Since the South Dayton Dance Theatre is a non-profit, non-salaried organization, we rely heavily on parent/guardian volunteer time to complete work necessary in producing dance productions. These productions are "The Nutcracker Ballet', "Spring Concert", minor performances, as well as the South Dayton School of Dance Recital and the South Dayton School of Dance Open House. Parents/Guardians of Company Members are required to contribute 30 hours of volunteer time during the months of September through August. In circumstances where there is more than one (1) Company Member in a family, the required number of volunteer hours will be 40. To ensure that all Parents/Guardians participate in volunteer activities, a $100 deposit is required. At the end of August, if you have completed your volunteer obligation, and upon your written request to the Voluntary Coordinator, your $100 will be returned. Failure to fulfill volunteer requirements will result in a forfeiture of member’s $100 deposit. In addition, company member will be denied any scholarship grants and be required to refund any previously granted scholarships. Further, the Board of Trustees must vote on whether to permit such company member re-admission to SDDT company in the subsequent year and the conditions upon which such member may be granted re- admission to SDDT, including but not limited to a commitment by parents or guardians of member to make up volunteer hours not completed in the previous year, and/or an additional volunteer deposit, and/or such other conditions as the Board by majority vote determines appropriate. ONLY HOURS SUBMITTED BY EACH COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON WILL BE RECOGNIZED. The $100 deposit is required to be made at the same time as the Company dues. Volunteer deposits from the previous year will be rolled forward unless volunteer hours were not met by the company member. Volunteer hours will be reported upon within thirty days of each major performance to help volunteers coordinate hours.
