Transfer List. Unit employees shall be entitled to have their names placed on the vacancy transfer list. Such written requests may be submitted to the appropriate Human Resource Office on a continuing basis. Requests received by the 20th of a month shall become effective on the 1st of the following month. All such requests must be made in accordance with departmental procedures. The list compiled as a result of the requests received shall expire at the end of the calendar year.

Transfer List. The Port shall post notices of all Port vacancies in each location listed in Section 8.C.1 for a period of not less than (10) working days in order to afford employees interested in reassignment within the same classification an opportunity to apply for vacant positions. Each such notice shall describe the classification of the position to be filled, the physical location of the position, its starting and quitting time, and a general description of the work to be performed. If five or fewer employees request an interview, each employee shall be interviewed. If more than five request an interview, at least the most senior five shall be interviewed. In selecting the person to fill the vacancy, seniority shall be a factor in consideration.

When requested by a represented employee, the City will place the represented employee’s name on a transfer list for the represented employee’s classification. Transfer List. The Company shall maintain an updated list of all employees requesting transfers to other buildings, according to seniority, and a copy of this list shall be provided to the union at the end of every month. However, an employee may not request a transfer to another building until the employee has been employed continuously for 6 months at the employees present building site. Employees requesting transfers shall remain on the transfer list until the employee has been offered an opportunity to transfer to another position comparable to what the employee has requested. Once an opportunity to transfer to such a position is made to the employee, the employee will be removed from the transfer list. The employee may reapply for transfer following a period of 6 months. The transferred employee shall maintain his or her seniority.
