The UN System. UNDP and the other UN agencies provide coordinated assistance to strengthen and enhance the development agendas of Barbados and the OECS Member States through the UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) to respond to the challenges that have been identified by the countries in national consultation processes. Six development outcome areas have been identified in the 2012-2016 UNDAF. These are: • Environment, energy, climate change and disaster risk reductionEnabling environment of effective economic and social governance and enhanced securitySocial protection and poverty reduction with an emphasis on vulnerable groups • Food and nutritional security • Public health within the context of the development agenda using rights-based approach, maintaining focus on HIV/AIDS and non-communicable diseasesCapacity development and institutional strengthening. The Resident Coordinator, in collaboration with UN system agencies and national counterparts, will work to mobilise resources towards achievement of the UNDAF outcomes. Progress towards the UNDAF outcomes will be jointly monitored and evaluated by the UN subregional team and the monitoring and evaluation of UNDP’s subregional programme will feed into and be guided by this process. Key UN partners for the UNDP programme include UNAIDS, UNICEF, UNIDO, UNISDR, UNWOMEN, UNFPA, PAHO/WHO, FAO, UNV, UNODC and UNOCHA. UNDAF Outcome Groups, which have a responsibility for ensuring the achievement of the priorities outlined therein, agree on the UN input into Eastern Caribbean Development Partner Groups, made up of multilateral and bilateral partners. UNDP will actively participate in all Outcome Groups and serve as co-convening agency for three Outcome Areas.

The UN System. IPCC AND IPBES The United Nations was founded in 1945, following the end of World War II, and is today led by the Secretary-General Xxx Xx-xxxx. The organization today consist of 193 members, and has an international charter which allows them to “take action on the issues confronting humanity in the 21st century, such as peace and security, climate change, sustainable development, human rights, disarmament, terrorism, humanitarian and health emergencies, gender equality, governance, food production, and more.” (UN, 2015c) The five principle organs of the UN are: the General Assembly, where all member nations are represented “making it the only UN body with universal representation”; the Security Council facing issues of peace and security and consisting of 5 permanent members (the United States, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and China), and 10 non-permanent places on rotation between the rest of the UN membership; the Economic and Social Council taking on matters of economic, social and environmental character, and is the UN’s “central platform for reflection, debate, and innovative thinking on sustainable development”; the Trusteeship Council meeting on occasion and before 1994 responsible for following up the self-governing transition of 11 territories; the International Court of Justice placed in Haag giving advice and settling legal disputes brought in by member states; and finally the Secretariat carrying out the assignments mandated by the General Assembly and other UN organs (UN, 2015a). The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) are the two most important UN institutions for collecting knowledge on climate change and environmental matters. These organizations are central to this study, as their views on aspects of production and products in a sustainable development and Earth System perspective, represent one part of what the paper explores in relation to the discussion of environmental goods and the EGA. A short description of the institutions is therefore necessary.   • Transmission System The facilities controlled or operated by the Transmission Provider within the PJM Region that are used to provide transmission service under Part II and Part III of the Tariff.

  • Irrigation Systems The Project Area either has no irrigation system or a low-volume drip irrigation system. If a watering system is used, it is a drip irrigation system equipped with a filter, pressure regulator and emitters rated at twenty (20) gallons per hour (gph) or less. The system is maintained free of leaks and malfunctions. No spray irrigation is applied to the Project Area, including spray from irrigation systems adjacent to the Project Area.

  • Transmission System Operation The NTO shall be responsible for ensuring that all actions related to the operation, maintenance and modification of its facilities that are designated as NTO Transmission Facilities Under ISO Operational Control and NTO Transmission Facilities Requiring ISO Notification are performed in accordance with the terms of this Agreement, all Reliability Rules and all other applicable reliability rules, standards and criteria, all operating instructions, ISO Tariffs, and ISO Procedures.

  • Communication Systems The Parties agree to share the use of communication systems, radios and radio frequencies for the implementation of this Agreement. Sharing of frequencies must be approved only by authorized personnel for each Party and documented in the AOP.

  • Where BellSouth uses Integrated Digital Loop Carrier (IDLC) systems to provide the local loop and BellSouth has a suitable alternate facility available, BellSouth will make arrangements to permit OnePoint to order a contiguous local loop. To the extent it is technically feasible, these arrangements will provide OnePoint with the capability to serve end users at a level that is at parity with the level of service BellSouth provides its customers. If no alternate facility is available, BellSouth will utilize its Special Construction (SC) process to determine the additional costs required to provision the loop facilities. OnePoint will then have the option of paying the one-time SC rates to place the loop facilities or OnePoint may chose some other method of providing service to the end-user (e.g., Resale, private facilities, etc.).

  • Distribution System The Transmission Provider's facilities and equipment used to transmit electricity to ultimate usage points such as homes and industries directly from nearby generators or from interchanges with higher voltage transmission networks which transport bulk power over longer distances. The voltage levels at which Distribution Systems operate differ among areas. Distribution Upgrades – The additions, modifications, and upgrades to the Transmission Provider's Distribution System at or beyond the Point of Interconnection to facilitate interconnection of the Small Generating Facility and render the transmission service necessary to effect the Interconnection Customer's wholesale sale of electricity in interstate commerce. Distribution Upgrades do not include Interconnection Facilities.

  • Equipment and Software To use the Mobile Remote Deposit Services, you must obtain and maintain at your expense, compatible equipment and software that we may specify from time to time.

  • System Except as otherwise provided herein, the Trustee shall not be accountable for the use or application by the Company or the Master Servicer of any of the Certificates or of the proceeds of such Certificates, or for the use or application of any funds paid to the Company or the Master Servicer in respect of the Mortgage Loans or deposited in or withdrawn from the Custodial Account or the Certificate Account by the Company or the Master Servicer.

  • Quality Management System Supplier hereby undertakes, warrants and confirms, and will ensue same for its subcontractors, to remain certified in accordance with ISO 9001 standard or equivalent. At any time during the term of this Agreement, the Supplier shall, if so instructed by ISR, provide evidence of such certifications. In any event, Supplier must notify ISR, in writing, in the event said certification is suspended and/or canceled and/or not continued.

  • Management Information System The M&E Plan will describe the information system that will be used to collect data, store, process and deliver information to relevant stakeholders in such a way that the Program information collected and verified pursuant to the M&E Plan is at all times accessible and useful to those who wish to use it. The system development will take into consideration the requirement and data needs of the components of the Program, and will be aligned with existing MCC systems, other service providers, and ministries.
