PROMOTIONS AND APPOINTMENTS. * 27.01 In making promotions to vacant positions coming within the jurisdiction of the Union, the required knowledge, qualifications and skills contained in the job posting shall be the primary considerations and, where two or more applicants are qualified to fulfill the duties of the position, seniority shall be the determining factor. A request to waive an employee into a position will be from the Employer and will be in writing to the USW Local 1-207 office with a copy provided to the Unit Chair for USW Local 1-207.
