Prior Public Service Employment Credit. Employees are entitled to receive prior public service employment service credits as follows: A full-time employee shall accumulate vacation time using prior public service with the State of Ohio or a political subdivision thereof for the six-year period preceding employment with the City. Each employee shall, within sixty (60) days of employment, furnish the Director of Finance with certification of such public service to receive prior public service employment credit.

Prior Public Service Employment Credit. A full-time employee, hired after January 1, 1985, is entitled to have his/her prior public service with the State or a political subdivision thereof, or for his/her prior service with the U.S. Armed Forces for the six-year period immediately preceding his or her employment with the City, used for the purpose of computing the employee’s rate of vacation accrual. For employees hired on or after July 1, 2018, a political subdivision is defined as an Ohio city, county, township or special district which pays into either the OPERS or OP&F pension systems. “U.S. Armed forces” are defined as active duty served, including active reserve, with the Coast Guard, Army, Marines, Navy or Air Force. Other entities not specifically referenced will not be considered for prior public service credit. A full-time employee hired on or after May 24, 2013, who has received or is receiving retirement benefits in accordance with the provisions of any retirement plan offered by the State of Ohio (a reemployed retiree) will not have any prior public service included in the calculation for the purpose of determining vacation accrual benefits. It is the responsibility of the employee to provide documentation from prior employers and/or the applicable pension plan verifying prior service within ninety (90) days from his/her full-time date of employment with the City. Requests for prior service credit received after the 90th day of full-time employment must be approved by the appropriate Appointed Official.

When additional work is required of a cyclic position during a period for which the position was scheduled for leave without pay, the temporary work will be offered to the incumbent. The incumbent will be allowed at least three (3) working days in which to accept or decline the offer. Should the incumbent decline the work, it will be offered to other cyclic employees, in the same classification, with the necessary skills and abilities, in order of seniority, before being filled by other means.

  • Project Employment 1. The Employer may appoint employees into project positions for which employment is contingent upon state, federal, local, grant, or other special funding of specific and of time-limited duration. The Employer will notify the employees, in writing, of the expected ending date of the project employment.

  • Secondary Employment A. For any employee entitled to disability leave, the employer shall pay the covered employee compensation in accordance with section 10.2 governing disability leave.

  • Supported Employment Supported employment is provided to an individual who has paid, individualized, competitive employment in the community (i.e., a setting that includes non- disabled workers) to help the individual sustain that employment.
