Common use of Prior Public Service Employment Credit Clause in Contracts

Prior Public Service Employment Credit. Employees are entitled to receive prior public employment service credits as follows: A full-time employee shall accumulate vacation time using prior public service with the State of Ohio or a political subdivision thereof, or armed forces, for the six-year period preceding his/her employment with the City. Each employee shall, within 60 days of his/her employment, furnish the Director of Finance with certification of such public service to receive prior public service employment credit. An employee who has received or is receiving retirement benefits in accordance with the provisions of any retirement plan offered by the State of Ohio (a reemployed retiree) will not have any prior public service included in the calculation for the purpose of determining vacation accrual benefits.
