Method of Taking Leave. (a) Either 28 consecutive days, or two separate periods of not less than seven consecutive days in all cases exclusive of any public holidays will be given and taken within six months from the date when the right to annual leave accrued. The employer and employee will seek to reach agreement on the taking of annual leave at a mutually convenient time(s). If not taken within six months from the date it accrued, either the employer or employee may give at least four weeks' notice of the dates when all, or part of the accrued leave will be taken.

Provided that an employee may elect, with the consent of the employer, to take annual leave in single day periods (or multiples thereof) or part of a single day not exceeding five days in any calendar year at a time or times agreed between them. Where an employee requests that leave be allowed in one continuous period such request shall not be unreasonably refused. In the event of lack of agreement between the employer and the employees the matter shall be dealt with in accordance with the Grievance and Dispute Procedure of this Agreement.
