BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND PERSONAL LEAVE. All requests for leave mentioned in this article will be applied for in writing using the SIGN Request for Leave Form within the specified time lines. For the definition of immediate family to include spouse, common-law spouse, same sex partner, son, son in law, daughter, daughter in law, father, father in law, mother, mother in law, brother, sister, grandchild, grandparent, any relative permanently residing in the employee’s household or with whom the employee resides, a person who the employee considers is equivalent to being a member of their immediate family, or any other person on approval of the supervisor.

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND PERSONAL LEAVE. .15.1 The District shall allow each teacher employed by the District sick leave without loss of salary for at least twelve (12) working days in any year on account of personal sickness or physical disability of the teacher or of his/her family. These twelve (12) days will be credited to the teacher at the beginning of each school year and can be used at any time during the year. I f any teacher does not use the full amount of sick leave allowed in any school year, the amount not used shall be accumulated from year to year and used, i f needed, up to a total number of working days equal to the cap defined in article 15.2. If, as of the conclusion o f a school year, a teacher has more accumulated sick days (not counting any personal days from that school year to be converted to sick leave pursuant to Section 15.6 of this Agreement) then allowed by the cap, the teacher shall be entitled to a payment of $15.00 for each sick day over the cap (in no event, however, shall a teacher carry forward more accumulated sick days then the following years cap from one year to the next, as stated in the previous sentence). In each period o f 150 consecutive calendar days of employment as such, a long-term substitute shall be allowed five working days sick leave without loss o f pay. A long-term substitutes sick days shall not be cumulative unless the substitute is given a probationary appointment consecutive with his/her long-term substitute appointment in which case his/her unused days shall be credited toward a maximum accumulation of working days equal to the cap. Family as used in this paragraph shall mean spouse, parent or child o f the teacher.

  • Sick Leave and Personal Leave The Administrator shall be granted paid sick leave, as defined in Section 24-6 of The School Code, of twelve (12) workdays per contract year accumulative to three hundred forty (340) days. The Administrator shall be granted three (3) paid personal leave days per contract year for personal business. Unused personal leave days shall be credited towards the Administrator’s accumulated sick leave.

  • Sick and Personal Leave The Assistant Principal shall annually be entitled to twelve (12) days of sick leave and two (2) days of personal leave. Unused personal leave days will accumulate as sick leave days. Earned sick leave may accumulate to a maximum of 340 days. Every sick day that is issued for the current school year and eventually not utilized during that school year will be multiplied by 1.5 at the end of the school year (e.g., 10 unused sick days on June 30, 2022 will be converted in a credit of 15 sick days for the Assistant Principal’s use.) This unused sick day multiplier will not be in effect during the four (4) years prior to retirement.

  • Unpaid Personal Leave Where an employee has exhausted all paid personal leave entitlements, they are entitled to take unpaid personal leave to care for members of their immediate family or household who are sick and require care and support or who require care due to an unexpected emergency. The employer and the employee shall agree on the period. In the absence of agreement, the employee is entitled to take up to two days (up to a maximum of 16 hours) of unpaid leave per occasion, provided the requirements of 7.2.5(a) and 7.2.5(b) are met.

  • Paid Personal Leave A. During the first full pay period in each January, full-time employees on the payroll as of September 1, 2011 will be credited annually with paid personal leave credits at the following rate: Scheduled Hours per Week Personal Leave Credits 37.5 hours per week 37.500 hours 40.0 hours per week 40.000 hours Such personal leave may be taken during the following twelve (12) months at a time or times requested by the employee and approved by his/her Appointing Authority.   • Extended Personal Leave Personal leave without pay not to exceed thirty (30) 26 days may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent. Personal leave in 27 excess of thirty (30) days shall be subject to approval by the Board.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Personal Leaves 8.11.4.1 As approved by the Board, personal leaves without pay may be granted in cases of exceptional need for up to six (6) months. Any such leave exceeding one (1) semester shall not be counted toward tenure or promotion or for computing salary increments. These leaves may be extended by the PVPAA upon recommendation of the xxxx for up to one (1) year.
