An evaluator clause designates a specific individual or entity responsible for assessing certain aspects of a contract, such as performance, compliance, or the quality of goods and services. An evaluator s working file may have prior evaluations and performance related materials for two (2) years. Administrators will review working files and remove derogatory content that is more than two (2) years old and for which there has been no recurrence. If an employee leaves the District, the working file will be destroyed. If an administrator leaves the building and/or District, working files will be destroyed except the prior two years of evaluations.
An evaluator who shall not be a member of the bargaining unit, having a serious concern as to whether a staff member's teaching contract should be renewed for individual cause shall notify the staff member in writing. An evaluator may place any employee who has received an overall rating of “Strong or Excellent” on their previous year’s annual evaluation on a Focused Evaluation unless the employee requests a comprehensive evaluation. The evaluator must notify the employee of their decision to evaluate the employee on the Focused cycle prior to November 15 of the current school year.
An evaluator must be a credentialed administrator of ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Ferry School District. The evaluator must be a Principal and not a bargaining unit member. The Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent may support the evaluation process by conducting walk-through observations. If the need to expand the pool of evaluators arises, the Board and the Association shall meet to discuss the need to expand the pool of evaluators, if any, and negotiate a Memorandum of Understanding regarding the pool of evaluators if needed.
An evaluator may solicit additional input from a classroom teacher regarding a Paraprofessional, provided the classroom teacher has day-to-day knowledge of the Employee’s work performance through direct supervision. Any such input solicited from a classroom teacher will include specific examples of the Employee’s performance and must be documented in the Evaluator’s Comments section of the Paraprofessional Evaluation Form.
An evaluator may conduct a special evaluation for either a permanent or 20 probationary employee at times other than those regularly specified. An employee 21 may request and receive a special evaluation in their non-evaluation year.
