Section 14.4. 33 Any employee who refuses to become a member of the Association in good standing or pay the service 34 charge in accordance with previous sections, shall, at the option of the Association, be immediately 35 discharged from employment by the District.
Section 14.4. 7 The District will notify the Association of all new hires within ten (10) working days of the hire date. At the 8 time of hire, the District will inform the new hire of the terms and conditions of this Article.
Section 14.4. 28 Any current employee, who refuses to become a member of the Association in good standing or pay 29 the representation fee in accordance with the previous sections, shall be immediately discharged from 30 employment by the District.

Section 14.4. 2 New employees hired prior to March 1 of each year shall be credited with a year of service for step 3 increase purposes on September 1. The same method will be used to calculate longevity.
Section 14.4. 12 All newly hired employees will start at Year one (1).
Section 14.4. A bargaining unit substitute is defined as an employee who fills in for a 23 regular employee who is temporarily unavailable due to illness, injury or some other 24 authorized leave status. A bargaining unit substitute shall be paid according to Appendix A 25 step one, but shall have no other rights unless specifically stated. 27 Qualified long-time PSE substitutes will be paid at Step Two of the Salary Schedule at the 28 beginning of their sixth (6th) consecutive year of substituting in the Riverview School 29 District. To qualify, the substitute needs to have worked thirty (30) cumulative days within a 30 fiscal year for five (5) consecutive years. 32 Similarly, former Riverview School District PSE employees that have previously worked five 33 (5) or more consecutive years as regular employees with the district and return as substitute 34 employees shall also be placed at Step Two.
Section 14.4. 31 When the delivery of services of a paraeducator to a medically fragile student are contemplated, the 32 District will make every effort to involve the employee in preliminary meetings. Employees who provide 33 service to medically fragile students may express their concerns to their immediate supervisor and 34 request in-service training to help perform required services. If, after reasonable attempts at training and 35 consultation, the employee seeks a different position through the application process, the employee's 36 application or selection will be considered without prejudice as to why the employee is leaving the 37 current position. 38 39 Section 14.5.
