An employee that works on a public holiday will be paid double time and a half inclusive of payment for the day calculated on the base rate for hours worked.

Where actual hours worked exceed these minima, then payment will be made for the hours actually worked on a weekend. In accordance with the preferred practice of Employees, only one paid crib break shall be taken on Saturdays between 9:00 am and 11:00 am, for a period not exceeding 15 minutes. As a general rule, Employees will not be required to work on Public Holidays. An Employee that works on a public holiday will be paid at a rate of double time and a half, inclusive of payment for the day, calculated at the Employee’s hourly wage rates, as per Appendix 1, or by agreement a day off in lieu may be taken at an agreed time.
