Work Day/Duty-Free Lunch. For the duration of this Agreement, a teacher’s work day shall consist of seven and one-half (7 1/2) consecutive hours, including a duty-free lunch period no shorter than that stipulated in the School Code of Illinois. The regularly scheduled Xxxxxx Early Education Center teacher workday shall be from 7:35 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. The regularly scheduled elementary teacher workday shall be from 7:35 a.m. 3:05 p.m. The regularly scheduled middle school and high school workday shall be from 8:20 a.m. 3:50 p.m. However, nothing prohibits the Administration from adjusting these schedules by up to fifteen (15) minutes as long as the Administration notifies the staff and the Union President by April 1 prior to the commencement of the school year in which the change will take place. However, the District may, once during the life of this Agreement, adjust these schedules up to ninety (90) minutes as long as the Administration notifies the staff and the Union President by April 1 prior to the commencement of the school year in which the change will take place. In no event will the teacher work day exceed the seven and one-half (7½) consecutive hour workday. Nothing prevents a teacher from using flextime each workday as long as the seven and one-half (7 1/2) hour workday has been met. However, teachers may not flex on any day that the teacher is required to be present for a building meeting within the regularly scheduled workday. Additionally, teachers must be present at least ten (10) minutes prior to and following the student attendance day. (See Article 6(A)(4)(5) and Article 6(C)(2) for further limits on scheduled meetings.) On Institute Days, the workday shall be no longer than five (5) consecutive hours from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. without a scheduled lunch period. Work Day/Duty-Free Lunch. Full-time teachers will receive a thirty (30) minute uninterrupted duty-free lunch. Teachers may volunteer for duties such as assisting children with assignments or homework, kitchen help, detention, hall monitoring, etc. If teachers volunteer for such duties, flex time may be taken as mutually agreed upon in advance by the teacher and the supervisor or Principal. This time does not include student delivery or student monitoring requirements. Teachers may be required to give up part of their lunchtime in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Teachers will notify their building supervisor or Principal prior to leaving the premises during their lunchtime. Teacher Workday Teacher workdays are a component of the work calendar that enables a teacher to finish up work and prepare for instruction. These days are defined as those set aside in the school calendar for teacher directed activities with the exception of very brief meetings that may be necessary for conducting school related business and may not be used for extended staff meetings.
Work Day/Duty-Free Lunch. There shall be no change in the length of the teacher’s workday without prior approval of the Association. Teachers are entitled to a duty-free lunch period no shorter than stipulated in the School Code of Illinois.

Related to Work Day/Duty-Free Lunch

  • Weekend Differential Employees assigned to State institutions other than Maine State Prison shall be eligible for a weekend differential of fifty cents ($.50) per hour to the base for shifts beginning between 10:00 p.m. Friday and 9:59 p.m.

  • Weekend Premium Effective July 1, 2020, an employee shall be paid a weekend premium of one dollar and ten cents ($1.10) per hour for each hour worked between 2300 hours Friday and 2300 hours Sunday, or such other forty-eight (48) hour period as the local parties may agree upon or as defined in the Collective Agreement. If an employee is receiving premium pay pursuant to a local scheduling regulation with respect to consecutive weekends worked, the employee will not receive weekend premium under this provision.

  • Night Shift Differential 1. An employee who works an assigned night shift shall, in addition to his or her regular salary, be paid a night shift differential for each hour actually worked on the assigned night shift.

  • Union Activity During Working Hours The Employer and the Union recognize that union representatives and stewards play an important role in effectuating the terms of this Agreement; however, both parties acknowledge that the duties undertaken as a union representative or xxxxxxx are in addition to the their job assignments. The Union shall notify the Department of Budget and Management in writing of the names of designated stewards and union representatives prior to them assuming any duties. Consistent with the operational needs of the Employer, the Employer shall grant time off with pay for designated stewards and union representatives, including reasonable travel time when necessary, to attend:

  • Holiday During Vacation If a holiday, named under Article 7 of this Agreement, falls within the vacation period of an employee, he shall be granted an additional day's pay in lieu of the holiday.

  • Shift Differentials A shift differential of thirty-five cents ($.35) per hour shall be paid for shifts starting between 2:00 p.m. and 9:59 p.m. for employees regularly assigned to such shifts. A shift differential of forty-five cents ($.45) per hour shall be paid for shifts starting between 10:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. for employees regularly assigned to such shifts. The differential provided herein shall be part of base pay for overtime pay and other purposes. Employees at the Maine State Prison who are regularly assigned to the 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. shift are to be paid a shift differential of forty-five cents ($.45) per hour. Employees of mental health and correctional facilities shall be eligible for the second shift differential when their shift begins between 12:00 noon and 4:59 p.m.

  • Shift and Weekend Premium (a) Effective July 1, 2019, an employee shall be paid a shift premium of ninety cents (90¢) per hour for each hour worked between the hours of 1500 hours and 0700 hours. Effective July 1, 2020, an employee shall be paid a shift premium of ninety-five cents (95¢) per hour for each hour worked between the hours of hours of 1500 hours and 0700 hours.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Leadwork Differential (a) Leadwork differential shall be defined as a differential for employees who have been formally assigned by their supervisor in writing, “leadwork” duties for ten (10) consecutive calendar days (or the equivalent thereof for alternate or flexible schedules) or longer provided the leadwork or team leader duties are not included in the classification specification for the employee’s position. Leadwork is where, on a recurring daily basis, the employee has been directed to perform substantially all of the following functions: to orient new employees, if appropriate; assign and reassign tasks to accomplish prescribed work efficiently; give direction to workers concerning work procedures; transmit established standards of performance to workers; review work of employees for conformance to standards; and provide informal assessment of workers’ performance to the supervisor.

  • Holiday Premium Pay A Nurse working on a recognized Holiday is entitled to the following compensation for any hours worked on the calendar date of the recognized Holiday:
