School Improvement definition

School Improvement or “SI” means the system set forth pursuant to Section 1008.33, F.S., in which the state provides support and interventions of escalating intensity to low-performing schools in order to improve and sustain performance of all student subgroups, and holds districts accountable for improving the academic achievement of all students and turning around low- performing schools.
School Improvement means making schools better places for learning. This relies on changes at both school level and within classrooms, which in turn depend on Schools being committed to fulfilling the expectations of children and their parents.In other words, school improvement refers to a systematic approach that improves the quality of schools.

This accountability criterion shall be based upon the assessment systems of the School, the Sponsor, and the State.

  • Schools which fall under the State of Florida Differentiated Accountability Plan will comply with all requirements as they relate to the School Improvement Plan.
