UNION MEMBERSHIP DUES DEDUCTIONS. Section 4.1 The City agrees to deduct from the wages of each Union member, upon the written request of the employee to the Union Secretary Treasurer of Teamsters Local 14, and subsequently forwarded to the City, the sum certified as monthly union dues and/or initiation fees. If any controversy arises on account of such deductions that the Union failed to notify the City to discontinue, the Union will furnish, at no expense to the City, competent legal counsel of the City’s choosing and the Union agrees to indemnify, save and hold the City harmless from any and all expenses, costs, or liability incurred by the City which arises out of or is otherwise directly related to such controversy.

  • Union Dues Deductions It shall be a condition of employment for all Nurses in the Bargaining Unit, that dues be deducted from their bi-weekly salary in the amount determined by the Union. The Employer shall remit such dues, levies and assessments to the Union within twenty-eight (28) calendar days from the date of deduction, together with a written statement containing the names of the employees for whom the deductions were made and the amount of each deduction. The Employer shall supply each employee, without charge, a receipt for income tax purposes shown on the T4 slip in the amount of the deductions paid to the Union by the employee in the previous year. Such receipts shall be provided to the employee prior to March 1 of the succeeding year. Deductions for levies and assessments shall be a percentage of wages.

  • Dues Deductions 47. Dues deductions, once initiated, shall continue until the authorization is revoked in writing by the employee.
