Returning Employees. Employees previously employed by the Employer who return to employment with the Employer with less than two (2) years break in employment shall be placed on the wage scale at the step which reflects their previous hours of experience with the Employer. Wage Progression Employees shall be paid according to the attached wage scale and advance to the next higher step on the above wage scale as they reach the seniority hours on that step.

Returning Employees. Workers previously employed by the Employer who return to employment with the Employer shall be placed on the wage scale at the step which reflects their cumulative career hours (CCH). If CCH is not verifiable, the employee shall be placed on the wage scale at the step which reflects their previous hours of experience with the Employer.

Return Within Less Than One Year from Date of Separation.‌ An employee who is reinstated within one (1) year after separation to a classification in which the employee previously completed a probationary period shall not serve another probationary period. If an employee did not complete probation before separation, the employee shall serve a new probationary period.

Returning Employees. Employees shall have the benefit of what is commonly referred to as the “3 and 2 rule.” Pursuant to this rule, employees who have three years previous University service with an FTE of 50% or more and return to University service within two years to a bargaining unit position of at least 50% FTE will be reinstated with an adjusted date of hire (not including credit for the time the employee did not work for the University), and waiting periods for benefits will take into account their previous University employment.

Returning Employees. Employees who voluntarily resign their position and are rehired by the University into the same classification within one year of the termination date, may be rehired at their previous rate of pay, plus any applicable bargaining unit pay increases that may have occurred during that time.
