Public Holiday Entitlement where no work is performed A Full-Time or Part -Time Employee who is rostered off on a day that is a public holiday that they would have been required to work except for the public holiday falling on that day shall be entitled to the day off at the base rate of pay for the ordinary hours they would have been normally rostered on the day.

Public Holiday Entitlement. The following days are recognised as Public Holidays by this Agreement: New Year’s Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Monday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day; Anzac Day, Queen’s Birthday, Labour Day, and Melbourne Cup Day (or local equivalent). Where an employee is not required to work on the day he/she will not have any deduction from the normal ordinary weekly pay. Employees will be reasonably required to make themselves available if the public holidays referenced above is deemed by the employer to be a work day. If an employee works on a nominated Public Holidays they will be paid double time and a half for the hours worked. Where New Years Day, Australia Day or Anzac Day is a Saturday or Sunday a holiday in lieu thereof shall be observed on the next Monday. Where Christmas Day falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, 27 December shall be observed as the public holiday in lieu of the prescribed day. Where Boxing Day falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, 28 December shall be observed as the Public holiday in lieu of the prescribed day.
Public Holiday Entitlement. Employees are entitled to paid Public Holidays in accordance with the NES. By agreement between the Employer and an Employee, another day or different days may be substituted for the said days or any of them. Further, the Employer and an Employee may agree to substitute another day or days for the said days or any of them as to that workplace.
