Pay During Temporary Transfer. 17.1 When any employee of the bargaining unit performs the duties of a position in a classification higher than the classification currently held by the employee, the employee shall receive a temporary pay increase to the hiring rate of the higher classification or an increase in accord with Section 11.6, whichever is higher, but in no case shall the employee receive a pay reduction. An employee will be deemed to be assigned such duties when the temporary transfer exceeds fifteen consecutive calendar days. Any such pay increase will begin on the sixteenth day, shall be retroactive to the date of the temporary transfer, and shall end when the employee reverts to his/her previous classification. Pay During Temporary Transfer. Based on the present salary schedules for the Salaried Employees' Association, when employees are required by the Corporation to relieve in another classification, and perform the essential duties of that job, the following shall apply:
Pay During Temporary Transfer. When an employee substitutes temporarily on any job, he shall receive the rate for the job or his regular rate, whichever is the greater. When an employee is, in an emergency, assigned temporarily to a position having a lower rate, his rate shall not be reduced until after ten (10) consecutive working days.
Pay During Temporary Transfer. When an employee is assigned for one (1) shift or more, the major portion of the duties of a higher classification within the bargaining unit, he shall be paid at the same step of the salary scale of the higher classification as he was paid at in his previous position. An employee temporarily assigned to a lower paying position shall not have his rate reduced.
Pay During Temporary Transfer. There shall be no immediate change in the salary rate of an employee who is temporarily transferred at the request of the City.
Pay During Temporary Transfer. When an employee is temporarily transferred for the convenience of the Employer from one job classification to another, as provided in Section 8 of Article VI, the transferred employee shall suffer no loss of pay or other benefits because of the transfer. If the classification to which the employee has been transferred is higher than the employee’s permanent classification, he/she shall receive the acting pay rate of the position being worked for the duration of that transfer after the first hour.
Pay During Temporary Transfer. If an Employee temporarily substitutes on a job during the absence of another Employee, he/she shall receive the rate of pay for the job on which he/she is actually working or his/her regular rate, whichever is greater for as long as he/she temporarily substitutes on that job.

Effective November 8, 2021, when any employee of the bargaining unit performs the duties of a position in a classification higher than the classification currently held by the employee (meaning the Minimum Hourly Rate or Step 1 is higher than the employee’s current classification), the employee shall receive a temporary pay increase to the hiring rate of the higher classification or an increase in accord with Section 11.8, whichever is higher, but in no case shall the employee receive a pay reduction. An employee shall qualify to receive this temporary pay increase once he/she has been assigned duties in the higher classification for a combined eight (8) or more hours during two consecutive work days. The temporary pay increase shall apply to all hours worked until the employee reverts to his/her previous classification.
Pay During Temporary Transfer. Lower Classification When an employee is directed by their Department Head to temporarily perform work in a lower classification, the employee shall continue to be paid the established rate of pay for the employee’s regular classification. 18.11 Mileage Allowance Mileage rates paid to employees using their own vehicles for the Employer’s business shall be as follows:
Pay During Temporary Transfer. When an employee temporarily substitutes in, or performs the principal duties of a higher paying position for no more than one day, this employee shall receive the rate of pay for the job performed. When an employee is temporarily assigned by the Superintendent to a position paying a lower rate, the rate shall not be reduced. If an employee is demoted or because of his/her seniority displaces another employee on a lower rated job, this employee shall immediately receive the lower rate. When an employee is designated to relieve for more than one day in a position which is not in the bargaining unit, he/she shall be paid an increase of 10% over his/her current hourly or salaried rate for the period he/she is relieving. While relieving, the employee shall continue to enjoy all the rights and benefits provided by the collective agreement.
