Learner Supports. Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board has significant experience and a track record in supporting learners on their learning journey, particularly with a focus on personal development and enhancing core skills. The 2018-2020 Strategic Plan sets out structures for the provision of learner supports in the areas of literacy, numeracy, core IT skills and learning to learn. As part of the Language, Literacy and Numeracy Framework developed in 2017, Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board is working to enhance its ability to provide supports for learners across all levels of provision. Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board is collaborating with other ETBs in setting up these structures to ensure a degree of consistency in the supports provided across the country.
Learner Supports. CDETB is committed to the continued development of supports for learners to ensure effective and sustained engagement with its further education and training services. Key actions include: ― integrating literacy, numeracy and guidance supports to learners across a range programmes, ― finding ways to optimise the use of facilities across all centres to provide an enhanced service to learners, ― introducing Mental Health Awareness Programmes for learners, ― continuing to manage an efficient and fully accountable national awarding authority for Student Grants (SUSI), ― maintaining, supporting and extending the CDETB Psychological Service to learners who need it, ― extending learners’ access to digital learning environments when and where appropriate, ― reviewing the profile of early leavers to ascertain reasons why they leave and to put supports in place to help them achieve full awards, Strategic Performance Agreement 2018 – 2020 15 City of Dublin Education and Training Board ― reviewing the Adult Education Service (AES) to ascertain how the service can provide supports across all programmes and ― putting systems in place to ensure all staff are continually informed of services for learners.
