ASSIGNMENT PROCEDURES AND PRIORITIES. First priority goes to current resident students who participate in the process known as the “Room Selection Process.” In general, all other potential residents who are admitted to SUNY XXXXXXXX as degree-seeking students will be assigned according to the date on which the completed and signed Housing Agreement and the complete security deposit are received. The Office of Residence Life will attempt to honor roommate requests when both students involved have indicated each other as roommates on the housing agreement, and both have submitted materials at the same time, packaged together. This request must be received by June 1. The student agrees to accept the assigned space, regardless or preferences, and may only cancel the agreement according to those terms outlined above.

New residents will be assigned according to the receipt date of their completed contract and application fee. The earlier a student fully completes all steps of the housing contract submission process, the higher priority they have to participate in scheduled on-line room selection processes (if applicable) or be assigned to a bed space. A student failing to participate in scheduled on-line room selection processes (if applicable) lowers a student’s overall priority to be assigned to a bed space. The Contract does not guarantee a bed assignment or assignment to a specific type of accommodation (community, room or apartment) or assignment to any preference indicated by Resident. Resident's preferences are requests only – community, room, apartment, occupancy, and University's granting of roommate requests are not guaranteed. When bed space demand is higher than bed space availability, the University may utilize a wait list to assign bed space that may open up through contract cancellations. The Contract also does not determine final admission of the Student to the University. Assignment to on-campus housing is contingent upon the University's final acceptance of the Student for admission, approval of the Contract by the Senior Director or their designee and receipt of full payment. Company may only make a change of living arrangements with approval from the College and only in accordance with established room change procedures. The College reserves the right to reassign Resident at any time for any reason, including but not limited to, space availability. Company agrees not to allow Resident to sublet or assign his/her room to another person. Company may not increase, or allow Resident to increase, the occupancy of the apartment. Company agrees to cause Resident to promptly vacate his/her room if the College terminates the Agreement.
