WORKDAY AND YEAR. A. Unless otherwise set or specified by the Superintendent by contract, the workday shall consist of eight (8) hours per day with two (2) 15-minute unrestricted breaks and a 30-minute unrestricted lunch. Break times shall be set by supervisors and fall on either side of the lunch period. Bargaining unit members working at least six (6) hours per day but less than eight (8) hours per day are entitled to a 30-minute unrestricted lunch. The work year shall be as specified by contract by the Superintendent for each member.
WORKDAY AND YEAR. A. The teacher's on-site workday shall be scheduled in a contiguous block within the 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. time frame. The beginning and ending time of the day may be changed by mutual agreement between the administration and the affected teacher as long as such change does not increase the overall length of the teacher's workday. The length of the workday shall be seven (7) hours and twenty (20) minutes for 81 school days and seven (7) hours for the remaining teacher workdays. Absent an agreed-upon alternative schedule associated with the teaching responsibilities of a specific teacher, teachers shall remain in the buildings until 3:20 p.m. each day on any full-day school-day unless a teacher receives the express permission of the school principal to leave earlier. The parties agree that the assignment of staff to cover recess duties will be implemented on an equitable basis when possible. All unit members shall receive no less than one 30 minute duty-free lunch break each work day.
WORKDAY AND YEAR. A. Personnel covered under Unit A, with the exception of (1) Guidance Counselors, (2) School Psychologists hired prior to the 2015 - 2016 school year, and (3) Adjustment Counselors hired prior to the 2015 - 2016 school year, will begin no earlier than the Monday before Labor Day and terminate no later than June 30th. Students generally will be in attendance for one hundred eighty (180) days. The work year for teachers shall not exceed one hundred eighty-three (183) days. The first day for teachers shall include an orientation, with the remainder of the day reserved for teacher preparation. The last day for teachers and students shall consist of a full day for teachers and a half day for students. The two additional days for teachers will be scheduled during the course of the school year for the purpose of participating in professional activities, including professional development. The work year will include days when pupils are in attendance, orientation days at the beginning of the school year, conference days, and any other days on which teacher attendance is required. Orientation days for new teachers are not to be included in the above provision.

  • Meal Period ‌ A Contractor shall schedule an unpaid period of not more than 1/2 hour duration at the work location between the 3rd and 5th hour of the scheduled shift. A Contractor may, for efficiency of operation, establish a schedule which coordinates the meal periods of two or more crafts or which provides for staggered lunch periods within a craft or trade. If an employee is required to work through the meal period, the employee shall be compensated in a manner established in the applicable Schedule A.

  • Workday The length of the workday shall be designated by the District for each classified assignment in accordance with the provisions set forth in this Agreement. Each bargaining unit employee shall be assigned a fixed, regular, and ascertainable minimum number of hours.
