Guidance Counselors. 1. Whenever a counselor believes his/her assignment exceeds the guidelines set forth below, he/she, with or without his/her representative, shall communicate with his/her building principal the relief sought and rationale for same and attempt to resolve the matter.
Guidance Counselors a. Guidance counselors shall be required to work six (6) – ten (10) days beyond the regular school year. Three (3) days shall immediately follow the close of school in a given year; three (3) shall precede the opening of school in each succeeding school year. Up to two (2) additional days following the closing and/or preceding the opening of school may be required by the Superintendent. Notification of election of options shall be forwarded by Guidance Counselors to the Director of Human Resources by December 1st of each school year. Guidance Counselors. A guidance counselor employed by the District following June, 1971 whose certification requires one year cumulative work experience as established by the Department of Public Instruction, shall have his/her initial placement on the salary schedule advanced one year. Effective with new employees hired for the 1999-2000 contract year, initial placement of guidance counselors with a master's degree and no previous experience shall be placed at the sixth (6th) level on the teachers' salary schedule. Effective July 1, 2009, for guidance counselors initially hired on or after July 1, 2009 but before July 1, 2010, a guidance counselor with a master’s degree and no previous experience shall be placed at the seventh (7th) level on the teachers’ salary schedule. Effective July 1, 2010, for guidance counselors initially hired on or after July 1, 2010, a guidance counselor with a master’s degree and no previous experience shall be placed at the eighth (8th) level on the teachers’ salary schedule.
Guidance Counselors. The principal will assign a period of counseling for each forty (40) students.
Guidance Counselors. Guidance Counselors shall work, thirteen (13) days during the summer and be compensated at one two hundredth (1/200) of the regular compensation (base pay plus compensation for graduate hours) for each working day. Guidance Counselors. Guidance Counselors shall be compensated at a per diem rate of pay for each day they are called in to work, by the administration, beyond the normally scheduled work days. The per diem rate for each counselor shall be based upon his/her annual salary divided by the number of normally scheduled work days for the school year.
Guidance Counselors. A differential of $750.00 or five percent (5%) of the salary called for by the salary schedule, whichever is greater, will be added to the teacher's salary for full-time teachers assigned as high school and middle school guidance counselors.
