Teachers Duty. Section A. Teacher/Staff Orientation: New Teacher Orientation: The District and the Union are committed to the success of our new teachers in the Adult Basic Education Program. As a part of this commitment, the following new teacher orientation opportunities may be incorporated into the new teacher orientation for ABE teaching staff as determined by the ABE Program Manager: District-­Wide New Teacher Orientation: The District and the Union offer new teacher orientation to all new Minneapolis Teachers once a year prior to the start of the school year. This orientation focuses on K-­12 teachers and may not always be applicable to the ABE program. New ABE staff may participate in part or all of this orientation if the content is appropriate to them or the program. Program New Staff Orientation: This orientation is specifically provided for all new ABE staff. The goal of this orientation is to provide new staff with program information, policies and procedures, as well as District and state ABE program overviews. Community Education New Staff Orientation: The Community Education Dept. conducts orientations annually for all new staff. All new teachers are required to participate. Site Orientation: The ABE program operates at various site locations. Site orientation provides new staff an opportunity to meet colleagues and learners, gain access to curriculum, and learn site policies and procedures. This orientation may be provided by a colleague or program administrator. Orientation happens within thirty days of the first work day. Extended time pay will be provided if appropriate.

  • Teachers An individual who is a resident of a Contracting State immediately before making a visit to the other Contracting State, and who, at the invitation of any university, college, school or other similar educational institution, which is recognised by the competent authority in that other Contracting State, visits that other Contracting State for a period not exceeding two years solely for the purpose of teaching or research or both at such educational institution shall be exempt from tax in that other Contracting State on his remuneration for such teaching or research.

  • Teacher “Teacher” shall mean all persons in the appropriate unit employed by the District in a position for which the person must be licensed by the State of Minnesota, but shall not include the superintendent and any other licensed administrators who devote more than fifty (50%) percent of their time to administrative or supervisory duties, confidential employees, supervisory employees, essential employees, and such other employees as excluded by law.

  • Health and Safety Representatives 58.1 The Employer and its Employees will comply with Part 7 of the OHS Act – Representation of Employees in relation to the establishment of designated work groups and the election of Health and Safety Representatives.

  • New Teacher Orientation The Association shall have the opportunity to participate in the opening in-service day including speakers for the sole purpose of greeting new faculty members and informing them of the opportunities available to them through joining their professional association.

  • TEACHER FACILITIES A. Each school shall have the following facilities:

  • Teacher Discipline In the event the District takes a disciplinary action against a teacher, the standard to be applied is whether or not the disciplinary action was for just cause. It is specifically agreed that this section shall not apply to a decision by the Board to terminate a teacher or to not renew the contract of a teacher.

  • Safety Orientation All employees shall be certified in Safety Orientation. Safety Orientation shall consist of three parts: PART 1 - the CODC Interactive Rights and Responsibilities course; PART 2 - the XXXX course or equivalent, and PART 3 - Employer or Owner Project Specific Training. It is the responsibility of each employee to hold current certification and maintain certification in part 1 and Part 2. The Employer or Owner shall provide to each Employee before commencing work with PART 3 - Employer or Owner Project Specific Training. Each Employee shall be on the payroll and paid while receiving PART 3 training. As a condition of employment it is the sole responsibility of each and every employee to obtain, hold and maintain all current certification(s) in any and all legislated safety training requirements (i.e. WHMIS, Fall Arrest, etc.) that are trade specific. Supporting documentation of all legislated training must be provided by the employee to the Union prior to dispatch and to the employer upon hire and may be further requested by the employer at any time during the duration of their employment. Prior to the expiration of any certification, the Employer will notify the Employee of the pending expiration and give the Employee reasonable time to renew their certification. Further, prior to arriving at site, employees shall hold current qualification(s) for the specific tasks and equipment identified in the dispatch request. If the employee has to be trained after dispatch, all costs borne by the Employer shall be reimbursed by the Training Fund. The CODC Harassment Policy and Procedures, including the provisions regarding General Harassment and as amended from time to time shall be the minimum standard of this Agreement.

  • STUDENT DISCIPLINE AND TEACHER PROTECTION A. The Board recognizes its responsibility to give all support and assistance to teachers with respect to the maintenance of control and discipline in the classroom. Whenever it appears to the teacher and a representative of the Board that a particular pupil requires the attention of special counselors, social workers, law enforcement personnel, physicians or other professional persons the Board will take steps to relieve the teacher of responsibilities with respect to such pupil.

  • Student Teachers 8.05.01.A No teacher will be required to accept the responsibility of supervising student teachers; it is believed that professionally interested teachers will volunteer to do so from time to time.
