Adult education program definition

Adult education program means a local education agency,postsecondary institution, community-based organization or faith-based organization, corrections education agency a volunteer literacy organization, a public or private nonprofit agency, a library, a public housing authority, a nonprofit institution, a consortium or coalition of agencies, institutions, libraries, or authorities describe previously, or partnership between an employer and entities described previously who are responsible for locally administering the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act grant.
Adult education program means an organized educational program below the postsecondary level, other than a regular full-time K-12 secondary education program, provided by an LEA or nonprofit organization that provides the opportunity for an adult to further the adult's high school level education.

From the beginning, ABC Ministries became involved in a community restoration effort that included the renovation of homes around ABC’s location. We accomplished this in cooperation with a bank, a Foundation, and a Neighborhood Improvement Corporation. Through this revitalization program twenty homes received varying degrees of repair or were completely renovated. The ultimate goal of this effort was to assist local families become homeowners. In April 1998, a daily hot meal program was started, designed specifically for the children of the community. It is operated with the funds and donations of food from several generous sources, including the Food Bank and a local foundation. We serve a hot meal to an average of 35 children per day.
