PROBATIONARY PERIOD, PROMOTIONS. Section 1. Promotions. Promotions in the Classified Civil Service shall be made in accordance with the rules and provisions of the Kettering Civil Service Commission in compliance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Kettering.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD, PROMOTIONS. A newly promoted employee will be required to successfully complete a probationary period in his newly appointed position. The probationary period for a newly promoted employee shall begin on the effective date of the promotion and shall continue for a period of six (6) months. A newly promoted employee who scores an overall marginal (or less) during their performance evaluation may be returned to his former position and former rate of pay any time during his probationary period or may be placed on a performance improvement plan at which point the probation is extended an additional six months.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD, PROMOTIONS. At any time during this period, the Village may rescind the promotion or transfer and the employee will be reinstated to the employee’s previous position. Such action shall not be subject to the Grievance Procedure or Disciplinary Procedure. The employee will have the right to return to the employee’s former job position at any time up to, but not to exceed, the scheduled end of the employee’s probationary period.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD, PROMOTIONS. All promotions shall be subject to a six (6) month probationary period. During this type of probationary period, employees will continue to be considered regular employees, will accrue seniority, and shall be protected in discharge procedures as other regular employees. If the employee is not recommended for permanent status in such position, they shall be entitled to return to the position from which they were promoted provided they held permanent status in such position and a vacancy exists or one will be created as the result of another employee being promoted. If the employee was not accorded permanent status for any reason other than the inability to perform the duties of the new position, they shall not be entitled to be restored to the position from which they were promoted.

  • Probationary Periods Employees transferring to a different title will serve a six (6) calendar month probationary period. In the event the probationary period is not satisfactorily completed, the affected employee shall be returned to Job Bank assignment and the employee’s “bumping”, layoff or transfer rights under the Agreement or other applicable authority shall be restored to the same extent such rights existed prior to the employee taking the probationary position. Upon the affected employee’s first such return to the Job Bank, the employee shall be entitled to remain in the Job Bank for the greater of ten (10) business days, or the duration of the applicable Job Bank period, as determined under Article I, paragraph 2, that remained as of the date the employee began in the probationary position. The rate of compensation for the remainder of the employee’s time in the Job Bank will be the same as the rate in effect as of the employee’s last day in the probationary position. Return to the Job Bank terminates the employee’s work in the probationary assignment and, therefore, time served following the return to the Job Bank shall not be construed to count toward the completion of the probationary period.

  • Probationary Period A new employee will be considered on probation until he has completed forty-five (45) days of work (or 337.5 hours of work for employees whose regular hours of work are other than the standard work day), within any twelve (12) calendar months. Upon completion of the probationary period he shall be credited with seniority equal to forty-five (45) working days. With the written consent of the Hospital, the probationary employee and the President of the Local Union or designate, such probationary period may be extended. Any extensions agreed to will be in writing and will specify the length of the extension. The release or discharge of an employee during the probationary period shall not be the subject of a grievance or arbitration.

  • Initial Probationary Period An employee in an initial probationary period shall have no seniority until completion of his/her probationary period. Upon the completion of said probation, the employee will acquire seniority from his/her original date of hire. An employee who has a continuous period of temporary, interim, intermittent or seasonal employment prior to receiving permanent appointment shall acquire seniority for such time only if that permanent appointment occurred prior to July 1, 1989.

  • Promotional Probation a. An employee on promotional probation may be failed at any time without right of appeal or hearing, except as provided in C.3., below, and except that failing an employee on promotional probation must not be arbitrary, capricious or unreasonable.

  • Probationary Teachers Nothing contained in this Article 23 shall be interpreted as limiting the Board’s right to non-renew the teaching contract of a probationary teacher who is on family/sick leave.
