Occupational Injury/Illness Leave. 14.4.1 A bargaining unit member who is absent from duty because of illness or injury resulting from an accident or condition which qualifies under Occupational and Workers' Compensation Insurance shall be granted an occupational leave not to exceed sixty (60) days for the same accident in any one (1) fiscal year. Occupational leave shall be granted from the first day of disability but shall not extend beyond the last day for which temporary disability indemnity is received from the District Workers' Compensation Insurance Administrator. When the leave overlaps into the next fiscal year, the bargaining unit member shall be entitled to only the amount of unused leave due to him or her for the same illness or injury.

Occupational Injury/Illness Leave. Any regular employee who experiences an injury/illness in the course of performing work duties, and who receives Workers' Compensation benefits due to that injury/illness, shall be eligible for injury/illness leave as provided in this Article. If an employee fails to return to work within one (1) year after the date of the original injury, the Director, or designee, may terminate the employee's employment. An employee may be required to work and perform alternate duties for which he/she is qualified and capable as determined by the department head after consultation with the attending physician. If an employee performs a temporary light duty assignment, he/she shall be compensated at his/her factored rate of pay for the duties performed. Light duty assignments will not exceed five hundred twenty (520) hours (either in a block period of time or intermittently).
Occupational Injury/Illness Leave. The Company agrees to grant leave of absence due to occupation injury/illness for the period of time employee is under care of physician. During such leave continuous service will accrue. Periodic written proof of disability will be required from the employee's attending physician during the leave. The employee will lose all seniority rights if he fails to return to work upon release by physician to return to work.

The immediate family shall be construed to mean father, mother, son, daughter, wife, husband, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, or daughter-in-law. A statement from a responsible person other than the employee may be required as proof of illness.

  • Industrial Accident or Illness Leave 7.6.1 All unit members shall receive sixty (60) days’ leave with pay in any one fiscal year for an industrial accident or illness. An industrial accident or illness is defined as one where the unit member becomes ill or is injured while he/she is serving the District, and, the accident or illness is reported to the District’s Self-Insurance Program in accordance with District regulations, and, the District Self-Insurance Program accepts responsibility for the treatment of the unit member.

  • Extended Illness Leave 1. Extended Illness Leave, hereinafter referred to as “EIL” shall be established for Administrative Support Group, XXXX, Clerical, and Educational Assistant personnel who are absent due to their own personal illness or injury following the exhaustion of their accumulated illness, vacation and annual allotment of short term leave. Eligibility for Extended Illness Leave includes completion of employee’s probationary period.

  • Carer’s Leave An employee may use up to 10 days accrued sick days as carers leave to tend to the care for members of the employee’s immediate household. The leave will be subject to the employee providing reasonable proof of the need for the use of xxxxx’s leave. In circumstances where the employee has exhausted all of the paid leave, a further 2 days unpaid leave may be taken.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.

  • Health Leave Any regular employee of the District may, at the discretion of the Board, be granted a leave of absence without pay for reasons of health, such leave to be specified for a period of not more than one year. Such leave may be extended in case of serious health conditions.
