Extra-Curricular Supervision. All extra curricular supervision assignments shall be voluntary on the part of the teacher. In the event there are not sufficient volunteers, the District may assign teachers to extra curricular supervision. Such assignments shall be equitably distributed among faculty members so that such assignments are limited to five (5) hours a month. In the event a teacher is so assigned for more than five (5) hours per month, the excess shall be deducted from the following months' limitations. This section is applicable only to middle school and high school teachers. Teachers who perform the assignments as provided in this section shall be paid at a rate of $24.01 per hour for 2014-15, $24.25 per hour for 2015-16, and $24.49 per hour for 2016-17. This rate will be effective whether the supervision is voluntary or assigned.

This rate will be effective whether the supervision is voluntary or assigned. SB7 Impact Upon Reassignment and Transfer The law, informally known as SB7, requires that seniority no longer be the primary factor in decisions pertaining to the change of assignment of a teacher. The state statute references ‘qualifications’ over seniority. The language is modified to address this statutory change and to reflect the spirit of the changes enacted under PERA (Performance Evaluation Reform Act) in 2010.

Between 40 and 360 = Hours accrued above one (1) increment by less than the next increment will be carried forward into the new school year.

Extra-Curricular Supervision a. No teacher shall be required to supervise or chaperon more than one school activity per school year on a non-compensated basis excluding all functions that arise out of extra-curricular duties. All teachers shall be included in homecoming supervisory tasks, and this will be counted as the one (1) supervision task. Each additional extra-curricular supervision will be compensated for at the rate shown in the Extra-Curricular Salary Schedules in Appendix B-1 and B-2 of this Agreement.

For the purpose of this contract, a half day shall be one morning or one afternoon. Any payout shall be made in June on the regular monthly pay cheque. Carry forward of hours between increments beginning at 40 hours and ending at 360 hours will be carried forward into the new school year. Example: 50 hours = 1 day time in lieu and 10 hours carried forward to the next year.
