Employer Vehicles. Employees may be required to drive or operate the Employer’s vehicles or machinery to carry out their assigned tasks, which may include commuter use between the Employee’s place of residence and the designated work site. If an Employee is required to drive or operate one of the Employer’s vehicles/machines they are required to do so in a safe and proper manner, using the vehicle/machine only for the purpose it was made for. Prior to an Employee using any Employer vehicle/machinery they are required to provide the Employer with documentary evidence that they can indeed drive the vehicle and a copy of their driving license or operators ticket will be kept on the Employee’s personnel file. Drivers/operators of any of the Employer’s vehicles/machinery will be responsible for carrying out pre-start checks and ensuring that the vehicle/machine has an adequate supply of fuel, oils and water. Any damage to a vehicle/machine is to be reported to the Employer without delay and any fines relating to the operation of the vehicle/machine, such as speeding or parking fines will be the Employee’s responsibility. Private use of any Employer vehicle/machinery is only authorised with the prior approval of the Employer.

Employer Vehicles. 38.01 It is to the mutual advantage of both the Employer and the Employee that Employees shall not operate vehicles which are not in a safe operating condition and not equipped with the safety appliances required by law.
Employer Vehicles. The Individual Employer's vehicle transporting employees shall be driven by a competent driver. No employee shall accept transportation in an Individual Employer's vehicle unless it is satisfactorily enclosed against the elements of the weather. A vehicle shall be provided with seats or benches. Employees are expressly forbidden to ride in the bed of trucks that contain gasoline, solvents, pipe, fittings, equipment or materials.
Employer Vehicles. An Employer’s vehicle transporting journeymen and/or apprentices shall be driven by a competent driver. No journeyman and/ or apprentice shall accept transportation in an Employer’s vehicle unless it is satisfactorily closed against the elements of the weather. Any such vehicle shall be provided with seats or benches. Journeymen and/or apprentices are expressly forbidden to ride in the bed of trucks carrying gasoline, solvents, pipefitting equipment or material as cargoes. No employee shall drive or ride in an Employer’s truck unless the truck is identified by a sign and number, on both sides of the truck and legible at one hundred (100) feet, painted on or permanently attached, displaying the name of the firm by whom the employee is employed. Any vehicle carrying material or equipment for use on work covered by this Agreement shall also be identified in the same manner as herein described.

Prior to an employee using one of the employer’s vehicle they are required to advise the store so that a record of the vehicle use and whereabouts can be maintained. The store must also be advised when the vehicle is returned. Private use of any Employer vehicle/machinery is only permitted with the prior approval of the Employer.

It is the Employee’s responsibility to inform the Employer if their licence becomes suspended, cancelled or revoked, failure to do so could result in disciplinary action including termination and payment to the Employer of costs incurred. Drivers/operators of any of the Employer’s vehicles/machinery shall be responsible for carrying out pre-start checks and ensuring that the vehicle/machine has an adequate supply of fuel, oils and water and is in a safe condition for operating. Employees are to complete the vehicle/machinery log book as required by the Employer. Any pre-start non conformance or damage to a vehicle/machine is to be reported to the Employer without delay and any fines relating to the operation of the vehicle/machine, such as speeding or parking fines shall be the Employee’s responsibility and the private use of any Employer vehicle/machinery is only authorised with the prior approval of the Employer.

Employees required to drive the Employers vehicles will do so in a safe and proper manner, using the vehicle only for the purpose it was made for. Should an Employee loose or have their driving license suspended for any reason whatsoever, they are to inform the Employer at the earliest opportunity. Any damage to a vehicle is to be reported to the Employer without delay. Drivers of any of the Employers vehicles will be responsible for carrying out pre-start checks and ensuring that the vehicle has an adequate supply of fuel, oils and water. The Employee in charge of a vehicle at any time will be responsible to pay any parking or speeding fines that may occur when they are in control of the vehicle.

If an employee is required to drive/operate one of the employer’s vehicles/machinery they are required to do so in a safe and proper manner, using the vehicle or machine only for the purpose for which it was made. Prior to employees using the employer’s vehicle/machinery employees are required to provide the employer with documentary evidence showing that the employee can indeed drive the vehicle/machinery and a copy of the employee’s driving license and/or operators tickets shall be kept on the employee’s personnel file. Should an employee have their driving license/operators ticket suspended or cancelled or are prohibited from driving a motor vehicle/machine by law or for any medical reason, they are required to inform the employer as soon as practical. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action. Drivers or operators of any of the employer’s vehicles/machinery shall be responsible for carrying out pre-start checks and ensuring that the vehicle has an adequate supply of fuel, oils and water. Any damage to a vehicle/machinery is to be reported to the employer without delay and any fines relating to the operation of the vehicle/machinery, such as speeding or parking fines shall be the employee’s responsibility. Employees are responsible for ensuring that their vehicle/machinery is maintained in a clean and tidy fashion. This shall include, but not be limited to making certain that tools and equipment inside the vehicle are kept in a neat and uncluttered manner and that the exterior of the vehicle is washed down as and when required. Private use of any of the employer’s vehicle/machinery is prohibited. Accordingly, prior to its use employees are required to obtain prior approval of the employer.
