EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE SERVICE for Education (EASE) The District will continue to offer eligible employees Employee Assistance Service for Education (EASE) coverage with benefits substantially identical to that offered during the 1994-95 insurance year.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE SERVICE. A. If the above-referenced testing results are positive, the employee shall be given the opportunity to participate in the Employee Assistance Service (EAS) offered by the City of Rochester Hills. Participation in the EAS allows employees to be directed to medical help by participating in a rehabilitation program and, at the same time, be given an opportunity to possibly retain employment with the City. Employees who are required or elect to be treated on an in-patient basis must utilize annual and/or vacation time for this purpose. In the absence of such available time, the employee will be granted a leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority for in- patient treatment. If the employee does not participate in and successfully complete a prescribed rehabilitation program within six (6) calendar months of the positive test, he/she shall be subject to discipline, up to and including discharge. If the employee successfully completes the prescribed rehabilitation program, the employee will be returned to his/her former position with retention of all seniority rights.

It shall be the policy of the Program to assist, in a strictly confidential manner, employees who seek assistance for alcoholism, drug abuse, family problems, psychological or other medical problems. This policy recognizes that these are treatable conditions and it is the employee's responsibility to seek professional assistance for them. Employees with such problems are encouraged to contact the Employee Assistance Program for assistance by telephone or personal visit. Any contact with the Employee Assistance Counselor will be strictly confidential. The Employee Assistance Counselor shall make an evaluation of the employee's problem and recommend remedies which may include referral to an appropriate treatment agency. It is the employee's responsibility to follow the recommendations of the Employee Assistance Program.

  • Employee Assistance Plan The Board shall make available to eligible employees and their eligible family members, at no cost, an Employee Assistance Plan (EAP). Employee participation in and/or referral to the EAP shall be voluntary and confidential, except as to any disclosures required by applicable state law. All personal treatment records generated as a result of an eligible individual’s utilization of the EAP shall be maintained by the service provider and shall not be shared with the Board unless otherwise authorized by the eligible employee or the covered dependent, or by operation of applicable law. The contact person for the EAP services to be made available under this Agreement shall not be employed by the Board of Education.

  • Employee Assistance Drug and alcohol counseling, rehabilitation, and employee assistance are available from or through the Employer’s employee assistance program provider(s) (E.A.P.).
