Eligibility for Holiday. Pay To be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must have worked or been on approved, paid leave, other than sick leave, the employee’s full regularly scheduled workday before and after the holiday. The day before refers to the employee’s last regularly scheduled workday. The day after refers to the regularly scheduled workday following the day on which the holiday is observed.

Pay In order to receive holiday pay, an employee must have completed six (6) months of employment and must actually work on his last scheduled work day before the holiday and first scheduled work day following the holiday, unless his failure to work on such a day is due to a regularly scheduled vacation leave, personal day, sick leave, or bereavement leave. Employees scheduled to work on a holiday must actually work the holiday to receive holiday pay.

Bargaining unit members who are not normally assigned to duty during the school holidays of Christmas Day and New Year's Day shall be paid for those two (2) holidays provided they were in a paid status during any portion of the working day of their normal assignment immediately preceding or succeeding the holiday period.
