When the holiday, excluding Christmas Eve, occurs on Sunday, the holiday shall be observed on the following Monday. The Christmas Eve holiday shall be granted only when Christmas Eve is a scheduled work day. However, in years when the Christmas Eve holiday is not granted, employees will be granted another day for the Christmas Eve holiday that, with prior approval, may be used at another time during the Christmas holiday.

When any of the aforementioned holidays, excluding Christmas Eve, occurs on a Saturday, the day off shall be granted on Friday before the holiday. When the holiday, excluding Christmas Eve, occurs on Sunday, the holiday shall be observed on the following Monday. The Christmas Eve holiday shall be granted only when Christmas Eve is a scheduled work day. However, in years when the Christmas Eve holiday is not granted, employees will be granted another day for the Christmas Eve holiday that with prior approval may be used at another time during the Christmas holiday. To be entitled to receive pay for a holiday, an employee must work or be on authorized leave on the work day immediately preceding the holiday and the work day immediately following the holiday. On the above specified holidays, work schedules will be arranged so that sufficient personnel will be on duty in order to provide necessary services including but not limited to maintenance and operation of heating equipment, building security, and emergency circumstances. All employees who are scheduled to work on the above specified holidays will be paid one and one- half times his or her hourly rate for the hours worked on the holiday, plus holiday pay if the employee is otherwise entitled to receive it. This section will apply whether the employee is working for the school system or outside organization. Employees who are required to check facilities on weekends or holidays, will be paid time and one half for hours worked, with prior approval from the appropriate administrator.
Official Holidays. The following holidays will be observed and paid for at an employee's basic hourly rate of pay for hours the employee would have normally been scheduled, except as provided for in this Article. If December 24th falls on a Sunday, it will be observed on the Friday before. If December 25th falls on a Saturday, it will be observed on the Thursday before. If December 25th falls on a Sunday, it will be observed on the Thursday before. If January 1st falls on a Saturday, it will be observed on the Monday after. Other than specifically stated above, in cases where one of the recognized holidays falls on Sunday, the holiday will normally be observed on Monday, immediately following; likewise, should any of the regular holidays fall on Saturday, the holiday will normally be observed on the Friday immediately preceding. *The Admissions Day holiday will be observed during the days between Christmas and New Year's Day.
Official Holidays. The following holidays shall be observed and paid for at a bargaining unit member’s basic hourly rate of pay for hours the bargaining unit member’s would have normally been scheduled, except as provided for in this Article.
Official Holidays. The official days mentioned in the Labour Xxx 0000 BES in Article 23, paragraphs 1 to 4. If the Labour Act 2000 BES is amended as regards the official holidays during the term of the CLA, the amended provision shall apply.

The employee must be on paid status on the normal workday preceding and following such holiday.
Official Holidays. All Management employees shall receive thirteen (13) designated paid holidays per year to be observed during each fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). Holiday Leave shall be administered as provided for in Section 3.10 of the City of East Palo Alto Personnel Policies and Procedures and subsequent amendments adopted by City Council. Paid holidays shall have a length of eight (8) hours. If an employee desires to take more than eight (8) hours of holiday time (e.g., an employee on a 4-10 schedule), the employee will be permitted to use leave time to make up the difference.
