Daily Activities.  From 7:35 to 1:35, children in the Pegasus Program will be provided with small and large group activities designed to promote growth in all areas of early childhood development. These activities will be developed and cooperatively implemented by both the EC teacher and Educational Associates.  Students will take a daily nap.  Afternoon activities after 3:00 p.m are supervised by the Pegasus teacher with a 1:10 ratio.  Parents are responsible for providing a lunch daily for their child or for purchasing a meal ticket from the school cafeteria. On professional development and teacher workdays, parents are required to send a lunch for their child. Snacks and Classroom Materials  Nutritious snacks are provided daily and are covered under tuition costs.  For children on special diets, parents are asked to provide a daily snack.  Teachers will send home a school supply list. Parents will be asked to provide children with items for individual use such as backpack, extra set of clothing, rest mat and blanket, notebook, folder and tissues.  During the first week of school the campus cafeteria will be closed. Please be prepared to send a sack lunch during the first week of school and on days when the General Education Population are not attending school (PD and teacher workdays).  Parents are asked to provide lunch daily or purchase a school lunch card.
Daily Activities. A variety of daily activities for all age groups will be provided and they will be age and stage appropriate. They will include opportunities for teacher-directed, self-directed, and self-chosen tasks, a balance of active and quiet activities, individual and group activities, and curiosity and exploration. Monthly Schedules/Meal Calendars are posted on the website and each classroom every month. Monthly newsletters will be sent out to the parents. Report cards/progress reports will be sent out twice a year from their child’s teacher. Parental permission for transportation and field trips will be secured before the scheduled activity. If a blanket permission is used instead of a separate written permission, the following shall apply: • Parents shall be notified of the field trip; and • Parents shall be given the opportunity to withdraw their children from the field trip. Children shall be allowed to sleep or rest as individually needed. Outside activities are regulated by weather and air quality. Bright New Day uses Air Quality Color Code Chart as provided by the Department of Environmental Quality, cold weather guidelines using the wind chill factor instead of the ambient temperature and adheres to the Heat Index Chart and Environmental Protection Agency to determine the air quality.
