Generally, a “teacher of record” is defined as an individual (or individuals, such as in co-‐teaching assignments) who has been assigned responsibility for a student’s learning in a subject/course with aligned performance measures. The law requires that all classroom teachers be evaluated under the new law. • The regulations define classroom teacher as a teacher in the classroom teaching service as defined in §80-‐1.1 of the Commissioner’s regulations. • Local verification of the student roster shall occur no later than the last day of the third week of the school year. • For accountability purposes, the roster shall close on “BEDS” day.
