Union Representation Rights. 1. The interpretation and application of the provisions of this Award shall be grievable under Article 15. Any such grievance may be introduced at Step B and shall be subject to priority arbitration.

Any such grievance may be introduced at the Regional/Area (i.e., Step 3) level and shall be subject to priority arbitration. B The Employer shall provide to the Union a quarterly report on all reassignments, layoff and reductions in force made under this Article.

The Union may call four (4) meetings per year of all Employees in each department during working hours for informational and educational purposes, including the interpretation, application, and administration of this Agreement. The year for this purpose shall begin with the effective date of this Agreement. The Employees may be divided into groups of convenient size and one meeting held for each group so that all Employees will have an opportunity to attend each of said four (4) meetings. The meetings shall last no longer than two (2) hours. The Union may use the Employer's conference rooms and similar building facilities for such meetings. The Union will notify the Employer in writing of the time and place of the meetings at least ten (10) days before they are held, provided, however, that the hours during which the meetings are held shall be mutually acceptable. In addition to the foregoing meetings, additional meetings may be held by agreement of the Employer and the Union.

Union Representation Rights. A. The year for this purpose shall begin with the effective date of this Agreement. The Employees may be divided into groups of convenient size. When more than one session is held for an informational and educational meeting, all Employees will have an opportunity to attend one of these sessions. Each session shall last no longer than two (2) hours. Employees shall be afforded reasonable travel time to and/or from the meeting, provided that travel time outside of the Employees’ work hours shall not be considered work time. The Union may use the Employer's conference rooms and similar building facilities for these informational and educational meetings. The Union will notify the Employer in writing of the date(s), time(s), and location(s) of the meetings at least ten (10) working days before they are held. If the hours during which the meetings are held are mutually acceptable, the Union shall be responsible for informing its members of the date(s), time(s), and location(s) of the meetings as well as arranging for any accommodations needed. However, this does not preclude those agencies that are currently assisting the Union in notifying Employees of the meeting arrangements from continuing the practice. A recognised workplace representative will be released from the performance of normal duty for reasonable periods to: • represent employees in bargaining; • represent the interests of employees to the employer and to industrial tribunals or courts; • undertake necessary preparation for bargaining or other meetings in which they will represent employees’ interests. This includes consulting with the employees that they represent; • meet the employer to represent employee interests; • address new employees about the benefits of union membership at the time they enter employment; and • distribute official union publications at a time convenient to the workplace. While undertaking the activities listed in the preceding clause on a normal rostered day on duty, the recognised workplace representative will be regarded as being on duty and will not be required to apply for leave. They will be paid “ordinary time earnings” i.e. the classification rate, superannuation and shift loading which would otherwise be paid. The recognised workplace representative will not be entitled to overtime at the end of the roster cycle as a consequence of undertaking these activities.
