Unplanned Sick Leave. Employees will request unscheduled sick leave as soon as possible, before the beginning of the employee's scheduled tour of duty, unless the need for sick leave occurs during the employee’s normal duty hours. In those rare situations in which an employee is medically unable to notify the Agency of the unanticipated absence and/or request for sick leave, a responsible adult may notify the Agency and/or make the request for sick leave on the employee’s behalf.

Unplanned Sick Leave. Unit members who are unable to report to work must call the person designated at their site for emergency absence calls as soon as practical, but no less than one (1) hour before the scheduled starting time. If it is not possible to call in one (1) hour before the unit member is scheduled, the unit member must call in as soon as possible. If the unit member is unsuccessful in reaching the designated person, the unit member must try to reach a member of the Site Management Team. This call-in procedure must be repeated each day of absence unless other arrangements are made in advance.
Unplanned Sick Leave. An employee will request unplanned sick leave as soon as possible, normally within two (2) hours after his or her scheduled time for reporting to duty on the first day of absence. If such notice is not possible, an employee will request unplanned sick leave as soon thereafter as possible. For unplanned sick leave absences lasting longer than one (1) day, an employee shall notify Management by an acceptable means every day thereafter within two (2) hours after his or her scheduled time for reporting, unless Management has authorized an extended absence.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Accumulated Sick Leave ‌ The Employer shall inform all employees at least once each year of the number of sick days accumulated and shall make the information available to an employee on request.

  • Sick Leaves a. After the first year of full-time employment, a full-time faculty member who, by reason of personal illness or a medically certified disability is incapable of performing the regular duties of a faculty member, shall be entitled to a sick leave, with full pay (in lieu of contract salary which otherwise would be earned), for a period not to exceed six months. In no event, however, shall the University’s payment for sick leave exceed one-half (1/2) of the faculty member’s then prevailing annual contract salary. If the faculty member receives governmental disability benefits and/or workers’ compensation benefits during the period of absence, the faculty member shall be paid the difference between the benefits received and the benefits provided above.

  • Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.

  • Accrued Sick Leave The Board shall provide all employees with a cumulative record 23 of accrued sick leave hours on each pay statement.

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.

  • SICK LEAVE AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE Section 1. a. Employees shall be eligible to use paid sick leave after 30 calendar days of service with the Employer. Employees shall earn sick leave as of their date of hire in accordance with the following schedule: Maximum Sick Leave Entitlement Per Year Sick Leave will be 37.5 Hr. Workweek: 82.5 Hrs.
