The hours you work On commencement of employment you will be given a contract of employment. If you are a: ▪ Full-time employee, your ordinary hours of work will be 38 hours per week to be worked on the following basis: ▪ 38 hours within a work cycle not exceeding 7 consecutive days; or ▪ 76 hours within a work cycle not exceeding 14 consecutive days; ▪ 114 hours within a work cycle not exceeding 21 consecutive days; ▪ 152 hours within a work cycle not exceeding 28 days ▪ The span of ordinary hours is 6am to 6pm each day. ▪ Meal breaks are not included when calculating the number of hours worked ▪ Part-time employee, your ordinary hours of work will be, on average, less than 38 hours per week. ▪ Casual employee, you will be engaged on a minimum 2 hour shift. Carinya Home can roster you (with notice) to work your ordinary hours at anytime on any day from Monday to Sunday inclusive. You will receive 4 days off in each 2 consecutive week period provided that the days rostered off are 2 blocks of 2 consecutive days or 3 days on one occasion and 1 day on another, or 4 days on one occasion. Your fortnightly roster will be published at least 7 days prior to the roster period starting. However, your roster may be changed with less than 7 days notice if other staff are absent because of illness, or if there is an emergency. You can apply to change your roster, with at least 7 days notice. Rostered shifts will be a minimum of 4 hours and a maximum of 8 hours per day. However, you can work a minimum of 2 hours in any one shift by mutual agreement between you and Carinya Home to fulfil emergent requirements. You can also work up to 10 hours in any one shift by mutual agreement between you and Carinya Home, without payment of overtime and without the need for 7 days notice, only if: ▪ Workplace health and safety is maintained; ▪ When 4 shifts of 10 hours per day are worked in a row, you have a break of at least 48 hours before your next shift. ▪ You are not rostered to work for more than 10 consecutive days without a day off. Shift allowances and weekend penalties are determined by your relevant NAPSA. You must be set up and ready to commence work at your scheduled start time. For example, if you are scheduled to start at 6:30am, you must be ready and have completed all preparation to be able to commence your normal work duties at 6:30am.   • Minimum Hours All employees shall be paid their regular hourly rate for each hour worked except where employed for less than four (4) consecutive hours per day, in which event they shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours pay. An employee who is called for work and upon reporting finds that his or her services are not required shall receive two (2) hours pay.

  • HOURS AND WORK WEEK Section 1.

  • Twelve Hour Shifts Employees shall be entitled, subject to exigencies of patient care and/or departmental requirements, to rest periods during the shift of a total of forty-five (45) minutes.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • TEACHING HOURS AND TEACHING LOAD A. As professionals, teachers are expected to devote to their assignments the time necessary to meet their responsibilities, but they shall not be required to “clock in or clock out” by hours and minutes. Teachers shall indicate their presence for duty by placing their signature and time in the proper column of the faculty “sign-in” roster.

  • Consecutive Hours of Work The daily hours of work for each employee shall be consecutive.

  • Medicaid-Funded Hours Worked Effective July 1, 2021, the Employer shall contribute the Retirement Rate or eighty cents ($0.80), whichever is higher, to the Retirement Trust for each Medicaid-Funded Hour worked by all home care workers covered by this Agreement with seven-hundred and one (701) or more cumulative career hours and fifty cents ($0.50) for each hour worked by all home care workers covered by this Agreement with less than seven-hundred one (701) cumulative career hours. Medicaid- Funded Hour(s) worked shall be defined as all hours worked by all employees covered by this Agreement in the Employer's in-home care program that are paid by Medicaid, excluding vacation hours, paid-time off hours, and training hours.

  • Duty Hours 11.01 The regular work week for all employees shall be eighty (80) hours bi-weekly on shifts of eight (8) hours per day. Employees shall not be scheduled to work double shifts as a part of the normal scheduling procedure. The Employer may implement a forty (40) hour workweek on shifts of ten (10) hours per day, according to Departmental needs.
