Service and Seniority. While on Pregnancy Leave, Parental Leave or Adoption Leave, an Employee shall continue to accrue and accumulate service and seniority credits at the same rate as before the leave for the duration of the leave and the Employee’s service and seniority shall be deemed to be continuous. However, service accumulated during the Leave shall not be used for the purposes of calculating vacation leave credits.

Service and Seniority. (a) In calculating the length of service of an Employee, time absent due to Maternity Leave, Adoption Leave, Workers' Compensation, Sick Leave, Union Leave or paid Leave of Absence officially granted, shall be calculated as a part of the Employee's service for the determination of eligibility for perquisites and in determining the length of service of the Employee. Time absent during a period of layoff shall not be included in determining an Employee's eligibility for perquisites or length of service but shall be included for purposes of calculating seniority.
