Requesting and Scheduling Vacation Leave. (a) Vacation shall be scheduled in a manner that will least interfere with the operation of the facility. The vacation year is January 1st – December 31st.

Requesting and Scheduling Vacation Leave. (a) Employees must submit their vacation leave requests in accordance with the Employer’s processes. The requests shall include the Employee’s first and alternate choices.
Requesting and Scheduling Vacation Leave. Employees must submit their vacation leave requests in writing. The request must be submitted prior to March 31st, in order for Seniority to be considered. Seniority will not be considered for vacation requests submitted after March 31st, unless the time was earlier denied to an Employee. Vacation will only be granted for the current fiscal year’s accumulation. Vacation shall not be taken without the prior approval of the Employer. However, subject to operational requirements, a reasonable effort shall be made to grant annual vacation at the time requested by the Employee. All staff will be granted their vacation first, then holidays will be considered on a Seniority basis provided the holiday leave request is submitted in writing prior to March 31st.

For vacation during the period between January and June of the following year, the request must be submitted prior to October 1st, in order for Seniority to be considered. Seniority will not be considered for vacation requests submitted after October 1st, unless the time was earlier denied to an Employee. The Employer shall respond to vacation requests for this time period by November 15th. For vacation for the period between July and December, the request must be submitted prior to April 1st, in order for Seniority to be considered. Seniority will not be considered for vacation requests submitted after April 1st unless the time was earlier denied to an Employee. The Employer shall respond to vacation requests for this time period by May 15th. Vacation requests received outside the above deadlines shall be granted on a first come, first serve basis, unless requests from two or more Employees are made on the same day for the same vacation period in which case seniority shall be used to resolve the conflict. If the Employer is unable to grant the request, the Employer shall notify the Employee.
Requesting and Scheduling Vacation Leave. Vacation will be granted in order of seniority by classification and work location subject to operational requirements and the needs of the clients/residents. Employees shall submit their vacation preference in writing by April 1. The Employer shall post the vacation schedule no later than April 15. During the period from June 15 to September 15, preference for a period of up to two (2) complete weeks of unbroken vacation or any part of a week shall be given to employees with the greatest length of seniority. To exercise this preference, an employee need not pick consecutive weeks. Employees who submit vacation requests after April 1 shall have vacation granted on a first come first serve basis subject to operational requirements. If a conflict exists between the requests of two or more employees which are received by the Employer on the same day, seniority shall govern.

  • Scheduling Vacation Vacation shall be as scheduled by the College. Employees shall be entitled to at least three (3) consecutive weeks of vacation, unless otherwise agreed. Employees shall indicate their preference, if any, as to vacation dates no later than March 1 of the current vacation year for the next vacation year (July 1 to June 30). The College shall confirm or deny, in writing, such vacation requests by March 15. The College may, however, schedule vacations at any time and will consider requests by employees, including requests for vacation in the months of May through August, consistent with the College staffing requirements. Employee requests for vacation will not be unreasonably denied. Where in scheduling vacations in accordance with the foregoing, conflicts arise amongst employees as to their choice of vacation times, consideration shall be given to the respective length of service of such employees and staffing requirements in the final determination of vacation schedules, providing they have indicated a vacation preference prior to March 1 in the current vacation year. Vacation requests received after March 1 will be confirmed or denied, in writing, within two (2) weeks of receipt of same. If an employee is given in-patient treatment in a hospital during one (1) or more full days of the employee's vacation, those days may, at the request of the employee, be rescheduled during the vacation year, at a time convenient to the College.

  • Scheduling Vacations Vacations are to be scheduled in advance and taken at such reasonable times as approved by the employee's department with particular regard to the needs of the Employer, seniority of employee, and, insofar as practicable, with regard to the wishes of the employee. No vacation shall be assigned by the Employer or deducted from the employee's account as disciplinary action.

  • Weekend Scheduling It is the policy of the Employer to schedule those nurses who so desire every other weekend off, with the exception of those nurses who have signed an authorization to work consecutive weekends. Nurses who have volunteered to work consecutive weekends may withdraw such authorization upon two (2) weeks’ written notice prior to the date a new schedule must be posted.

  • Unit Weekend Schedule A unit weekend schedule may be developed in order to meet the Hospital’s need for weekend staff, and individual nurses’ preference for a weekend work schedule. A unit weekend schedule is defined as a schedule in which a full-time nurse works a weekly average of thirty (30) hours and is paid for 37.5 hours at her or his regular straight time hourly rate. The schedule must include two 11.25 hour tours, which fall within a weekend period as determined by the Hospital and the Association. A nurse working a weekend schedule will work every weekend except as provided for in the provisions below. If the Hospital and the Association agree to a unit weekend schedule, the introduction of that schedule and the manner in which the position(s) are filled, shall be determined by the local parties and recorded in the Appendix of Local Provisions. This unit schedule may be discontinued by either party with notice as determined within the Appendix of Local Provisions. The opportunity for an individual nurse to discontinue this schedule shall be resolved by the local parties:

  • Scheduling of Vacation Leave In scheduling vacation leave with pay for an employee the Employer shall, subject to the operational requirements of the service, make every reasonable effort to comply with the employee's wishes.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND SCHEDULING 15.01 The normal hours of work for an employee are not a guarantee of work per day or per week, or a guarantee of days of work per week. The normal hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7-1/2) hours per day, and seventy-five (75) hours in any bi-weekly period.
